Colonial Village — cute, quaint, a little dated

Colonial Village is an oasis in urban Arlington/Washington DC. It's was built as a "garden apartment" complex, so you'll enjoy big green spaces in between buildings and even quaint wooded paths between Colonial Village and the sidewalks of Arlington. The exteriors are well maintained year-round and staff are responsive to tenant/owner needs. The only downside is the age of the buildings and the appliances: many units haven't been updated since the 1980s or earlier, so you'll get old-fashioned range/setups and tacky linoleum floors. Everything in the kitchen works, but it isn't the most attractive. Most units have a unique oven set-up, in which the oven is above the dishwasher/range rather than below (which can make getting food out of the oven a chore.) Overall, a good, affordable place to live in the Courthouse/Rosslyn area of Arlington.
