Encircled by Homestead Road, Hillsborough Road, and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, a large portion of Carolina North consists of the Carolina North Forest, which sits in the center of the neighborhood. Horace Williams Airport is also located here, along Estes Drive. Carolina North Forest covers 750 acres and is considered part of the University of North Carolina's North Campus.
