I love it here. It’s great. One thing though…..the walls and ceilings are very thin. I’m woke up by the upstairs neighbors Monday through Friday. I hear every time they’re intimate, when they shower, her talking to colleagues when she’s working. I really wish I didn’t hear EVERYTHING. I even hear their conversations and the click click click of her shoes as she walks around. But we love everything and everyone else.

My son and I moved here in Oct. 2023 and so far we are both loving it. The staff have been friendly from the start and they are great at responding to the few minor issues that we have had. The building is kept clean and there are no odors in the hallways! Our pup loves the dog park and the fact that we have walking trails right behind our building help to encourage us to get out more with him. He also loves the staff as they give him treats, lol

If you're looking for a seamless process to get information regarding the apartment and moving in then it's the right place. It's convenient and right off of Highway 13 so everything is close by. Make sure to lock in the price when you inquire because the rent does not stay the same and fluctuates by a whole lot, $300 . Please be aware that when you move in it may and will possibly be dirty and filthy. You'll have to deep clean it yourself and just hope that it's good enough to live in comfortably.

I just moved into my apartment a few weeks ago and so far, my experience has been positive! The apartment was clean and ready for move in. The office team was friendly and easy to work with to get my keys and they were patient with all my questions! I had a few small maintenance issues and the office was quick to put in my orders. Andy was here the very next day and was able to complete everything and made friends with my dog, lol.

When I first moved here, I had some reservations about the place, but as time went on, I started to develop a love for it. Many thanks to the outstanding staff. Heidi, Kiara, Andy, and Q. The building has undergone recent renovations that have transformed it from a drab space to one I can proudly invite friends and family to visit. Everything, including excellent restaurants, a hospital, and groceries, is literally within walking distance. From the amenities to the phenomenal neighbors. I Would highly recommend moving.

The laundry rooms are disgusting. They have put air fresheners in the entry that are so strong that when I exit my home into the hallway I am coughing, the cleaners for common areas do not do their jobs. etc. It is visibly dirty and honestly just disgusting at times.

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. We are going to be re doing all laundry in each building starting at the end of January. We will be getting new flooring, paint and machines.
Avana west park is aiming to become a better home for tenants but still have a long way to go. The outside of the apartments is starting to look more modern but the inside of the apartments is falling apart.

I’m on the fence here - thinking about buying out of my lease and look for somewhere else to live. The office employee (not the manager) said she walked through my apartment add nothing was wrong with it ( thats a kind way of calling someone a liar) Apparently she missed all the dirt / spiderwebs and dead insects covering the balcony. I can’t have guests coming over until I hire a cleaning company and have them clean my balcony.

Nice looking apartment. Cheap blinds in living room and paint job. Have requested maintenance on multiple things and have been completed but then still do not work.

This place has been by far the best apartment I've lived in. The staff has been exceptional with everything from first meeting to days after moving in. I would recommend anyone checking this place out for your next apartment, you would be very pleased. To add a little more the inside is so nice, awesome layout of our two bedroom. I lived there for a year from 2016-2017. It started out good, but then the place was bought out by another company. That's when it all went to crap. The switch was painful. Many people and neighbors who moved out during that time weren't getting their deposits back for weeks and months! We were trying to get a garage stall and their system was "down" for months. One of their employees had to go back through tenants who had one and had left by hand to get us one. Megan was that employee and she's this apartment's only positive point! There were so many problems that one of their employees ended up quitting because she was tired of so many tenants complaining. They started charging for everything, messed up on us paying rent and would try to charge us, loose packages, and when the "redecorated" with the ugliest color schemes. The exterior of the apartment painters were sloppy and they got paint on my patio furniture, which the office didn't really care about it. It was an awful year, and I'd never live there again or suggest anyone else to live there. It's a great neighborhood though.

Over the last several months, we have streamlined our deposit accounting process and are happy to report that people will be getting their refunds much quicker. We have also implemented a package locker system which will help considerably when it comes to managing deliveries. It also allows for residents to have 24-hour access to their packages. I have been silent for a year. I feel guilt every time someone moves in, I didn't warn people. This place has serious problems: mold, no one answering the phone, 6 months behind on service requests, broken appliances for months, a.c. not working for three months, doors won't lock, garage stuck open, broken doors into building, stained carpet, garbage door stuck open, no notice of outages, storage locker lefts, no heat for the 5th time this winter, mold in washers...if they're working, no communication, call corporate they give you the number to a regional manager that never calls back, try to switch apartments yet not a priority only new people are... until their not new, strange upgrades that are ridiculous while vital things like doors that open or lock go unrepaired, don't answer emergancy requests, 1.5 inch ice covering windows and slider, use 5 fans to circulate a.c., shown models and not real apartment until it's too late, mice, broken toilets and showers...but it's okay because you have 2 bathrooms, no shoveling or deicer on sidewalks, mold in bathroom, under window units, around windows, smoking in hallways and garage...complain and told to call the EPA. This is just my building and from my neighbors on my floor. Please do your research. Come talk to the people who have had to: take appliances out of the trash that work, insulate to keep baby warm, buy fans, space heats, portable a.c. units, convection stoves, mini fridges, wipe condinsation daily to prevent more mold, buy air purifiers for every room, scrub your walls and ceiling with bleach because the mold is through the drywall. If this sounds like fun then come join us who are trapped at the Fitzgerald. The neighbors get along great as a result of bonding over our horrible life at the Fitzgerald after the management company Trinity took over.

From your packages being stolen to the general upkeep of this place, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone moving to the Burnsville area. There are many more nicer and affordable places than this one. We were able to terminate our contract with the Fitzgerald because of their violation. Our walls and ceiling were leaking due to the construction crew's negligence. Unfortunately for them, they did not come fix the problem for 18 days, and even then they didn't fix it entirely (only fixed the ceiling). I fell ill and baffled the doctors because I did not have the flu, or any additional problems with my heart, chest, or breathing. I discussed the possibility of my symptoms being because of mold exposure. Sure enough, my roommate and I stumbled upon black mold in where the water had been leaking, and additional places that were not affected. Management sent their renovation crew over to take care of it - they sprayed it and patched it up. There was no checking for additional mold done. To anyone moving to the Fitzgerald, please be aware of the fact that you may have black mold in your apartment unit sitting behind the walls or underneath the molding. Again, there are better places to move than here and I would highly recommend looking elsewhere.

If I could give them negative stars I would. We moved out on October 31st, 2017. And didn't get our deposit back until December 26th, 2017. Which is illegal. We also went in multiple times to let them know we hadn't received it, they were no help. We followed all of the steps required for sending our lease. We gave them a 3 page letter stating why and when we were leaving. When turning in the keys we gave them our forwarding address and they still sent it to our address at the fitzgerald. We also never received an explanation letter as to what we were getting back of our deposit and why which is also illegal. DO NOT STAY HERE SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSEL.

Worst experience ever with the management team. My fiance and I came in for a showing on Thursday at 1pm. We were shown three floor plans, the Buchanan, the Daisy, and Wilson. We fell in love with the Wilson floor plan and the guy that gave us the tour, the assistant manager, told us there will be few Wilsons available on second and third floor by August 1st of 2017. We were so stoked and my Fiance filled out the application right away after the assistant manager reassured us that they were available. They overcharged us by $50 when we filled out the application as it wouldn't let us submit it without paying. We called the office to no answer so we had no choice but to come in the next day. There was another lady in the office and not the assistant manager so we talked to her about them overcharging us and she couldn't even find our application. When she did find us in the system she told us oh no the apartment you applied for is rented out, it's not available. She said the assistant manager forgot to push it through so that's why it showed it available. We then requested to see another floor plan and they scheduled it for Saturday at 6:30 pm. My fiance left work early to make the drive, only to get called an hour before the scheduled time to let him know that the assistant manager won't be able to make it. Mind you the other lady had to make the call and it didn't even come from the assistant manager, the one who scheduled the second tour. She didn't even have an excuse for him just said he can't make it and if they could reschedule it. At this point we felt like we were given the run-around and requested a refund for the $300 they took when we did the application. We were told that we were going to get a paper check by mail and that it will take 10 days?!

We are extremely unhappy with our new apartment. It says air conditioning, but they're old wall units only in the bedrooms. Even with the bedroom units on and 2 box fans directing air to the living room, the living room is still close to 80 degrees all of the time. The units are so old they have to be manually adjusted. If I leave, they either run all day or are off all day. Huge waste of energy. It says cieling fans... But the only fan we have is in our dining room. Who wants a cieling fan in their dining room instead of their bedroom?? It should be switched. At the very least, install another ac box in the living room. We haven't been here in the winter yet but I'm very skeptical of the baseboard heating. The opening at the top is large and seems like a fire hazard and I am extremely worried of my small child around it. The decks are unsafe. The distance between railings is outside the Burnsville code limits. My small dog and child could easily fall through. I see many people have had to rig their own way of lessening the distance by using mesh, a baby gate, and even garden fencing to make it safer. The sliding doors are old and very difficult to open and close. The locks don't latch unless you slam them shut. The screen door is worse. It doesn't shut completely so if left open, ants and other bugs come inside. We can't even use it to cool the living room down on a cooler day because we don't want the bugs. The floor plans are terrible. The living room is an awkward rectangle that is way too narrow and long. We have a 2 cushion and 3 cushion couch and there is no way to arrange it comfortably. Plus, the actual floor plan of our unit is considerably different from what is listed online. We will not be renewing and are counting down the days to leave.
I walked in to see what they had available to rent on short notice. The office staff, specifically Megan, was wonderful and very friendly. She was quick to answer any questions I had and gave me a tour. I actually lived in this complex 19 years ago and liked it then. I'm impressed with all the updates that have been made, especially the dog run! The application process was quick, smooth, and painless! I was shocked at how quickly I was able to get a response. I'm excited to be moving back in next month!
Love how well kept they keep the older establishment. Has a dog park and great paths for walking.
You can tell this apartment is under new management because there is a lot of changes going on. A lot of apartments are being renovated and new policies have been implemented. I unfortunately did not get one of the newly renovated apartments so I still live in a unit from what I believe was called trailway pond apartments. The staff are nice and friendly and try to keep everyone happy which is nice. Its not a horrible place but its not the best
