Arcata Apartments

I have absolutely loved living at Arcata, it truly feels like home. Our maintenance guy Nelson is amazing and always on top of it. As soon as I put in a maintenance request, he knocks on my door with the biggest smile!! He’s fast and efficient!

Arcata apartment has been my amazing home for the past three years. The staff in particular is what makes the building a home! The leasing staff and maintenance man, Nelson, are all so incredibly accommodating and kind!

Arcata is an excellent apartment community! The employees take the time to truly care about their residents and the property. We love Arcata Apartments!

Just moved in and accidentally dropped my keys down the garbage shoot along with my garbage, like an idiot!! However, I called our on call maintenance and Matt showed up within the half hour and that poor guy dug through the ENTIRE garbage for me to find my key at the bottom of the compact garbage bin, in another bag!!! Matt and his partner did not give up looking and when he knocked on my door with my key, I wanted to hug him!!!! The apartment is great too but as far as service goes, I am so pleased to have staff who would do just about ANYTHING for their residents!!

I have lived here 6 months and really enjoy the excellent management (Jim, Ashley, Ike, and Julia), the upscale facility, great neighbors, and Central location. The staff were very supportive when I moved here and work to keep the place clean and up to date. They also strive to make it a community and hold monthly events so you can meet your neighbors. They had a 5 year anniversary party that was catered, had enjoyable live music and was well attended. The people, facility, amenities and location all make for an exceptional Big City Lifestyle!

The location is absolutely perfect. 5 min to downtown, yet still able to quickly get out of the city if you are wanting a weekend away. Small, but nice looking apartments. All of the office staff is nice but one of them, Ashley is absolutely incredible, I have never seen a office person vacuuming hallways before, but it shows that they really care about how the place is presented on a day to day basis vs just waiting until the next cleaning crew arrives. Love it here!

I live here for a while and I'm pretty happy with the location and amenities. It is very close to West End and easy commute to downtown. The community room is very nice and you can brew yourself a nice coffee. I gave 4 stars because there are few points where they could improve. 1. I'll start with my personal pet-peeve- the elevators. They never take down the ugly blue protective padding. I understand the purpose of it during moving in-out, but it is always there, regardless if anyone is moving furniture. I believe that if you put 'luxury' in your name then you should live up to it, and this one is simply not caring in my book and could be easily corrected. 2. Cleaningness - the lobby is always clean but the hallways and elevator areas can be pretty dirty. I can see same trash laying around for couple days before someone vacumes it. 3. The gym- is really nice and a great perk the only downside is equipment is not repaired often e.g. treadmill not working for nearly a month.

I don't know how there are such negative reviews here. The living space, the amenities, and the staff at Arcata are excellent. Emilie is the sweetest. We love it here, the location is perfect, and we have zero complaints.

I would not rent here again. After looking at several apartments I found Arcata to have a great location and amenities but have some serious issues. For instance, I got an email about a month ago saying that there was a homeless person seen walking around our building several times. Now that in itself is not a huge concern, but what if he was dangerous and wasn't just staying warm (stealing, damaging the building, looking for unlocked cars, etc.) So how does he get into a building that costs a lot of money to live in? Easy, the door by the pool is unlocked and ready for anyone to walk into the building from the outside with no key. They say it is a "fire code". For this much money, you can't even be guaranteed your safety. Find a new building to look at. I promise you will be happier and safer.

Go to the Flats at West End. Their are plenty of other apartments that will treat you far better and provide far better customer service than the Arcata. I was lied to, mistreated, & disrespected... and this is suppose to be a luxury apartment. HARDLY! All management can say is "sorry" when they mess up. It's never their fault. No accountability for their mistakes as they continue to make residents past and present pay...I was asked to move out early which worked out perfect in my schedule and then just kidding... that didn't work for them and was charged the entire month. I was told nothing in my apartment was wrong at the walk through and then just kidding, they decided to take the entire deposit plus more. These are just 2 of the many examples I could list when it is just disappointing the Arcata deems itself Luxury living. I know luxury living and it is not here!

Arcata is a new complex, which means everything is beautiful and well-done, but the leasing staff is not very seasoned. Arcata has a heated two-level garage directly underneath the complex. The pool area is very nice, and the units are well-designed and modern. The gym is adequate but much smaller than comparable complexes in the area. The only downside that I have experienced is that the leasing staff have trouble keeping track of e-mails and answering inquiries. They do not seem to communicate among themselves. They seem to be very nice people, but they don't have their act together yet. So far, I'm fairly dissatisfied. There are many other nice complexes in the area, and the rent is quite high considering the relative lack of customer service in the leasing office.

Brand new building which is nice! But also comes with its quirks, random firealarms, gates and stuff not working, waiting for little things to get installed. Community here is GREAT. Kitchen is awesome. Tad pricey but I think no matter where you live you'd like it cheaper haha
