Property Ratings at Affinity at Fort Collins 55+
Affinity Fort Collins presents a range of positive aspects, including robust security measures, meticulously maintained grounds, an appealing location, and efficient maintenance services. Nonetheless, the apartment's cooling system, reliant on a window air conditioner, proves to be significantly inadequate. The interior design could be characterized as retro, featuring Formica-style countertops and white appliances. Storage is somewhat limited, with just a single reach-in closet provided in the bedroom. The balconies, while petite, can accommodate either a chair or a person, but regrettably, it is difficult to do both simultaneously. The community is marketed as an active 55+ living space, although observations suggest a leaning toward a pre-nursing home environment, as evidenced by the prevalence of individuals utilizing walkers. A variety of weekly events are on offer, although many of these appear to consist of presentations by businesses targeting the elderly demographic for sales.
So glad I moved out! Even though the building is only two years old, seems like I was calling maintenance weekly to fix something and then I’d have to wait a long time. The air conditioning and heating system are so loud that you need to keep adjusting the volume on your tv or radio back and forth as they go on or off. Then the lady below me I suppose just gave up and left her volume up loud all the time and there’s no insulation between floors. I could hear everything she was watching. Some staff are nice but the turnover is so high that I didn’t even meet some before they left and they don’t tell you anything that’s going on. But then they work for a corporation in California that pinches pennies down to the bone. During the corona virus, we kept getting letters from their attorneys not to share any real compassion but to make sure we paid our rent on time. And rent is a few hundred more than other apartments because of the amenities, but the amenities were closed during corona virus and they didn’t care. Before then, the pool was closed several times for months to repaint it because they kept hiring cheap painters who didn’t know what they were doing. The owners just want to make as much money as possible and don’t care about the residents. The only nice thing I can say is that many of the residents are very nice, but with corona virus the amenities will be closed again so why pay more for nothing.
Lack of response when complaining about maintenance. Trash room is a health hazard. Response to complaint...probably needs cleaning. They clean it"once in a while". Needs to be sprayed for bugs as well
