795 Pine is a Gothic Revival-style beauty in a prime Nob Hill location. Its castle-like façade and tree-adorned rooftop stand out in one of San Francisco's premier neighborhoods, full of top-notch bars, restaurants, and postcard-worthy views.Built in 1913, 795 Pine maintains an air of elegance. Its lobby is wrapped in rich mahogany wood, capped off with an imported crystal chandelier from France. There are unique details everywhere, including signs of its past as a retirement home in the 1920s - the lobby still has dumbwaiters that brought food up to the residents from the downstairs kitchen. They have even found evidence of a secret speakeasy past, as Prohibition-era bottles of liquor were uncovered in a hidden, previously unknown section of the building during expansion renovations by a former liquor store owner. This classic building offers floorplans ranging from studios to penthouses. With modern touches like on-site laundry, an elevator, and other amenities, excellent public transportation for commuters (BART, Muni, and even cable car are easily accessible), and a 100 Walk Score, 795 Pine puts the best of San Francisco - including Downtown, the Financial District, Chinatown, and North Beach - at your fingertips. This unit is a rental unit subject to the San Francisco Rent Ordinance, which limits evictions without just cause, and which states that any waiver by a tenant of their rights under the Rent Ordinance is void as contrary to public policy.

Grant Avenue and Stockton Street are the neighborhood’s main thoroughfares, each touting rows of dim sum spots, bakeries, tea houses, cafes, markets, and specialty stores. Some of Chinatown’s most notable landmarks include the Dragon’s Gate, the Chinese Historical Society of America, and Tin How Temple.
Chinatown residents enjoy an array of lively, year-round events, such as the Chinese Culture Center Spring Festival, Autumn Moon Festival, and the popular Chinese New Year Festival and Parade. The neighborhood’s central locale affords residents easy commutes and travels.

Property Ratings at 795 Pine
Garbage place, the absolute worst. The building is very old so there is not thermal insulation meaning you are going to pay so much for heat. The door to the washer fell on me because it is too old and they haven't renovated in so long. Everything in always creking and the washing machine break every few weeks. Maintenance usually comes very later after a couple of weeks or something. Also there is no security in the building so my packages have been stolen a couple of times.
This is currently a furnished building being converted to an unfurnished building and I was able to rent the first unfurnished studio. I absolutely love it. Our resident manager is amazing and always takes care of things instantly. As a 1920's building with newly renovated rooms it is beautiful inside, and has wonderful stainless steel appliances. All of the units have 10' ceilings and the walls are built solidly and I can never hear my neighbors, either beside me or above me. The management company takes pride in their buildings and are constantly improving items (This year the back stairs, and next year the street facing side.) It's a 6 floor building with a Penthouse on the 7th floor, and even though it is at the corner of Pine and Powell streets its incredibly quiet, and the sound of the Iconic Cable Cars is awesome! I would highly recommend this building to anyone looking for a Studio or a 1 bedroom apartment!
