Live-in Volunteer Help create a future of possibilities for highly independent young adults affected by autism by joining our Live-in Volunteer Program. Volunteers are required to fulfill a time commitment of 4 hours per week and a 4-hour weekend shift per month. Reduced rent (rate shown) is offered for Volunteers. About Erik’s Ranch & Retreats: Founded in 2008, Erik's Ranch & Retreats is a first-of-its-kind living, working, and social environment for young adults with autism. Not only are both locations home to young adults with autism, but what sets Erik's Ranch & Retreats apart is that these young adults operate the boutique-style/guest accommodations at our two destination locations: Erik’s Retreat in Edina, MN, and Erik's Ranch in Paradise Valley, MT. Erik's Ranch & Retreats provides members (young adults with autism) individual housing, meaningful employment and social opportunities in a single model allowing our members to 1) match their strengths and passions to their employment; 2) have many supported positive social and recreational opportunities enabling independence; 3) engage in surroundings that encourage family and community participation; 4) become productive tax-paying citizens; 5) thrive and are included/accepted members of society and educate the larger community. Examples of volunteer services: • Participate in social outings with our members- Outdoor activities of all kinds including hiking, biking, skiing, kayaking and more. Attend concerts, festivals, game night, restaurants. • Be an assistant tour guide. Our members lead tours: Segway tour, Craft Cocktail tour, City of Lakes Limo tour, Penthouse Art tour and others to be determined. • Support our members assisting guest accommodations • Support members in daily living skills and other duties as assigned Requirements: • Undergraduate degree • Professional/grad student preferred • Experience with autism or other mental health disabilities preferred • One-year commitment (1 year lease requirement) • Must pass background check Apartment Details: • Unfurnished apartment with stove/oven, refrigerator, central heat/air conditioning • All utilities included • Free wifi • Pets allowed with nonrefundable deposit • Discounted vacation/family stays at Erik’s Ranch or Erik’s Retreat Building Details: • Laundry room (free use of machines) • Workout room • Secure building • Surface lot parking Nearby: • Walkable to Southdale business area for all shopping/entertainment • Bus stop at corner; hub just blocks away at Southdale shopping center • Beautiful Chain of Lakes just one mile away with rentable bikes, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, concerts, and more
