Welcome to the Laveda, located on Melrose Ave. E and E Thomas St. Our building was built in 1924. We are passionate about restoring and renovating this classic vintage building to period. We refurbish the hard-wood floors featured throughout the units. Looking for that Capitol Hill vibe with an urban residential feel? We are within walking distance from downtown Seattle and Broadway surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, the Link Light Rail and major bus lines with access to carshare. Some of our close by favorites are : Top Pot Donuts, Thomas Market (great sandwiches), Analog Coffee, QFC, Whole Foods the list could go on and on:) Great place to explore.

Neighborhood

Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle.
