Property Ratings at 1200 SEMMES Apartments
This apartment building is amazing. There is a team cleaning the halls and shared walk areas daily. Dog potty bags are provided at multiple stations around the property and a dog walk area on the top of the building. The communication with the management and the residents is top notch. Dotti is amazing and is always available if you have questions or concerns via text or email. Maintenance requests are fast and thorough. I lived here 2 years and never had one bad thing happen with working with the management.
Thoroughly enjoyed my time living at 1200 Semmes - property management is great, the property itself is perfectly located (minutes to the river, minutes to coffee and pizza). Dotti was helpful with move in an addressing other issues as they came up. Would definitely recommend!
I have enjoyed my time here at 1200 Semmes and wish I could have lived here longer! The building was recently built which is a plus and the rooms are spacious. The rent is fair, especially considering the amenities available and that most utilities are included. In the rare times I needed to submit a maintenance request, it was always completed within 24 hours without delay. However, what made the difference for me is the on-site property manager, Dotti. She has a no-nonsense style of management which I really appreciated, and went above and beyond to resolve all concerns promptly. She is on top of things and exhibits professionalism in all aspects of her job. I will miss being a resident here!
Lived here for a year and a half and if I wasn't moving out of the area and looking an outside area for my dog would have renewed my lease. The location to everywhere else in RVA was great, the area is up and coming. The management was friendly and easily accessible as well as maintenance being on top of issues that arise. I could only really hear my neighbors if they were being really loud or had a TV on loud with a bass. Near the end more issues were arising due to the new tenants not respecting others in the building, but if you reported it to management they tried their best to deal with the situation.
I've lived in the complex for the past 3 years and I have very much enjoyed my stay here. Wonderful staff, maintenance requests are addressed quickly and professionally, and the property manager communicates things in a timely manner. Building is clean, parking area is well lit, and I've had nothing but a positive experience while living here. Location is great, relatively quiet place for a large building, and the price is fair for the amenities and what is included with rent. Will miss living here for sure!
I stayed here for a year and it was the perfect spot to start out. Maintenance was quick to answer service reports and even would follow up with me after to ensure the repair was successful. Management always made themselves available and were easy to work with. I loved my time here.
I absolutely loved living in this place! It has everything I needed and wanted and it is just perfect! Beautiful space for work study and entertainment! If I wasn’t moving out of state, I would continue living here. The staff is wonderful! Dotti is the best! Very prompt and your advocate! The maintenance staff is outstanding! Anytime I needed them, they were there. I have 0 complaints!

My girlfriend and I lived at 1200 Semmes for about 2 years. We had a very spacious ground level apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Maintenance was quick and professional on the rare occasion that we had an issue. The rooftop terrace was a nice amenity to have, especially if you wanted to entertain. Dotti, the property manager, was very professional and a joy to work with. We would definitely rent here again!
The modern apartments are in great shape and all the included amenities save a lot of money. It is also located in one of the more safe areas of Richmond. The property manager, Dotti, is fantastic. She is exceptionally helpful and a joy to be around. She is a big part of why 1200 Semmes is a great place to live. Maintenance generally responds quickly. The custodial service keeps this place spotless. Great view and within walking distance of Legends Brewing, Twisted Ales, and a few cafes. You get 1 spot per apartment, but I have never had an issue with parking on the street. The dog walk on the roof is convenient and the roof terrace is a great place to watch football and grill out. I have lived in Monroe properties apartments before but 1200 Semmes is far superior than the other apartments.
I've been here almost a year and it's been great pretty much. Neighbors can be noisy but that's anywhere. The rooftop terrace is nice when having guests over and everyone has been friendly.
Beautiful place to live but the walls are thin. There is no installation in the Windows, so it's very called cold in the winter. Everything is included except electricity & there are different floor plans to choose from. The staff is very nice & efficient.
Thin walls, cheap quality interior. SUPER tight parking lot,NO VISITOR parking. Street parking is dangerous, some break ins. Management is less than helpful, rude,maintenance is hard to get a hold of.Its a GORGEOUS building w/a GREAT VIEW, BUT not worth the issues. Several apartments in the area that offer a greater value!
