What does yard do that is rarely seen in other apartments? The building is mostly concrete so noise is non existent, the only noise you are bound to hear is from the hallway. The lack of sound is really the best thing about this place. What does it do badly? Ask anyone who has lived here longer than a few months and they will tell you that the parking garage is a nightmare. I've been hit 2 times in 1 year in this garage, it is so tight that if you own a large vehicle your life will be hell every time you leave or return.

needed something. The whole property is always SO clean, it really feels luxury. The only downsides that I personally experienced were: the computer and printer never work in the office. Although the office is awesome. The only way I figured out how to print anything is by using a thumb drive and plugging it right into the printer. Also, the garage doors seem to be broken a lot. Although that's not Yard's fault, they don't manage the parking garage. And it's about $250/month I believe. I have spent 3 years parking on the street, so it IS possible, if you are looking to save money. If you or your kid loves skateboarding, this place is perfect. It is directly above Burnside Skatepark and my son practically lived down there. Despite it being a little sketch because there are homeless people on the street (just as everywhere else), it is pretty safe. Although my car has been stolen and windows broken out several times. So better to park in the garage if you can! It is also within walking distance to so many places and on all the main transit lines which has been super helpful.

I don't usually write reviews unless I feel like a person or a company went above and beyond or the service was absolutely horrible. In this case, Yard PDX was/is absolutely horrible. I pay $195 a month for "secure" parking, yet my car got broken into not once, but twice. I know at least eight other residents who have had their bikes stolen from the bike room and multiple people who have had items stolen from a "secure" storage room. The management's explanation for this is "Criminals around the city have gotten more brazen." This is supposed to be a luxury apartment building. Yet, they don't have sufficient security even though they have had an ongoing theft problem for well over a year. When I asked if the cameras in the garage caught the person who broke out my back window, they said: "we only have a camera at the entrances and nowhere else." This is a 4-story parking structure and they have no security and only two cameras that don't even record inside of the garage. The old management team was incredible, and it actually felt like they cared about the residents. The new management team does everything in their power to deflect responsibility. Even though this is all happening inside of the building that they manage. If this were a one-time thing, I would get it, but this has been going on for some time now, and they haven't done anything at all to better serve their residents.

I’ve lived in the Yard apartments for about 3 months now. The community areas (lobby, mail room, gym, outdoor area) always seem to be clean and appealing. The actual apartments are good sized and come with washer/dryer and kitchen appliances. The leasing office usually has someone in it and they have always been helpful when I stop in. However, in the 3 months I’ve lived there the parking garage exits/entrances have been broken down at least once a week and there is an elevator or two down every other week.
