On the north end of town, Horn Pond Recreation Area is also great for hiking and bicycling. Upper Mystic Lake features the Mystic River Path, two beach areas: Little Pond Beach and Shannon Beach, and several boat clubs.
Winchester is a very popular town for those with children, mainly because the school district is top-rated.
