Middleton is a small, wooded city bordering Lake Mendota, roughly four miles northwest of Madison. This beautiful city often makes "best" lists, including Money Magazine's list of the nation's best small cities to live in.
This friendly city (the motto is the "Good Neighbor City," after all) provides ample park space, including the lakeside Marshall Park, which features a beach area, a boat launch, fishing areas, and a playground. Nearby Lakeview Park features a lake, a splash pad, a playground, picnic areas, and walking trails. The city-owned Pleasant View Golf Course is located on a hill with panoramic views of the Madison skyline. During the winter months, it becomes a cross-country ski park.
While Middleton is a smaller city than the neighboring capital, you won't get bored after moving to a Middleton apartment. This city features a great downtown shopping district, roughly 80 restaurants, and a free trolley.

I've rented from McKenzie Apartment Company for almost 4 years now. They've been amazing! My husband and I absolutely love Waterside Apartments. Everything is super clean and quiet!! Excellent staff and the amenities make it a great place to live!
I've lived at Waterside for over a year now. My unit is comfortable, my neighbors are respectful, and the management & maintenance staff are very professional!
We use to live downtown and it was always so loud. We were so happy to move to Waterside Apartments. This is definitely a great area to live in. The apartment has great access to neighborhoods to walk. It also is close to any store you might need, and great parks too! The management is super helpful and you get a fantastic amount of living space for the cost. There are many families that live on the property, but also a lot of couples too. Whenever a problem has come up, Management is quick to solve it. In regard to noise, which I know many are concerned about, we live in a loft apartment and very rarely hear noise from our neighbors. At times the kids can get a bit noisy, but if you do have concerns management will address them. I really like where we live. The property group also has yearly social events that they plan, and a great following on Facebook where they have many activities residents can get involved in. We are very lucky to live here.
I have been living here for over 10 years and absolutely love it! Whenever anything needs to be fixed, Michelle, the property manager, makes sure it gets done right away. They are continuously improving the complex.
We are truly pleased to call Waterside home-Beginning with Michelle in the Waterside Office - to our beautiful apartment with amazing amenities - to the public areas, exercise room, pool - Waterside is the very best in apartment living!
The building and the neighborhood are quiet. It is also clean and well maintained. The complex has a pool, fitness center and a nice large events room. There also is underground parking. You have lots of shopping and restaurants within 5 minutes of you. There are several parks nearby and it's a great area for bicyclists. You'll love it here!
