The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Walker House
Don’t even think about to go there, super dirty all floors, summer time A/C broken dawn many times, come and check Sundays how dirty building. Gym super hot, A/C doesn’t work properly, smell bad, can’t breathe in the gym. Worst place ever live
Don't waste your time here. The main building at least is very dirty. Beneath surface level renovations, the apartments are disgusting. There are major safety concerns and there is no quality of living here.
You're not allowed to deadbolt your door if you're leaving your place, can only do it when locking from the inside. When asking management they said its a "security concern" if you can deadbolt your door from the outside? You get what you pay for, but security concern would make me look elsewhere.
Place isn't super superb or absolutely amazing but it's a nice place to live as you continue to grow and further your life. Staff is down to earth which is hard to find now days in apartments that have this many tenants. I'm sure they deal with a bunch of complaints...but it's apartment living and I've seen and dealt with way worse...
The management does not actually take care of the property. They make outward updates to make it look better, but don't actually fix the issues. There are lots of mice everywhere and they call the pest control only after complaining for days. They constantly have issues with hot water and there is no consistency. Apparently, they fixed it. But my apartment is still without proper hot water. Finally, the management always seems to treat their residents terribly. The staff are nice. But the management goes out of their way to make it seem like its our fault for having issues.
This building is at least 35 years old, though it feels more along like 85. Pipes inbetween walls constantly shake & make noise. So much cold air thru balcony door, frost on inside windows in winter, Quick responsive maintenance but useless & lazy. Affordable
New management is making improvements such as renovating the fitness center in this 70s era building. Solid construction limits noise between apartments (unless your neighbor really cranks up the bass)and the building's age means larger rooms than most new builds. Residents are a diverse mix of ages and nationalities, which is a plus. There is a convenience store on the ground floor and best of all, utilities are included. Also, a bus to the Shady Grove Metro station stops in front of the building and shopping is nearby. On the downside, the ventilation in each apartment is not great so cooking smells can sometimes pass from the halls to your apartment. Windows are due for replacement so you may feel a draft in the winter but nothing unbearable. Dogs and cats are permitted (I believe there is a fee). Overall, a good place to live.
Living in this hi-rise apartment complex not only gives you quick access to I-270 and the ICC but gives you the serene surroundings of the suburbs as well. All utilities are included in the rent, which is a plus, pets are welcome and the building as well as the grounds are well maintained. There is also a lake nearby to go jogging or take your furry friends for a walk. The rental office/maintenance staff are very friendly and helpful. They are currently in the process of upgrading the gym facilities and offer access to a recreation room complete with a pool table, flat screen TV's and free Wi-fi. If you're looking for a piece of serenity, away from the daily hustle and bustle....Walkers Choice is the place for you.
