Washington, DC's historic Waterfront neighborhood is both dynamic and diverse. Historic row houses sit in the shadow of mid-century government buildings, luxury condos, and high-rise office buildings. The leasing office is hard to deal with -- when I was ready to sign the lease, the person I was working with changed the number on the "rent" line and couldn't explain why it was different. Turns out that it was rent + parking + pet rent, which another person in the office was able to tell me after repeated calls. But this reflects their incompetence overall. They also mismanage packages regularly. Technically they're managed by LuxorOne, but it reflect VERY poorly on the property. I have numerous times received false package notifications, and my packages have been lost in the room. I have also emailed the office about being out of town and unable to pick up my packages, but have gotten no response and those packages were never to be found.

222 M st. is a great property. Systems and operation is nice. For the most part staff is up front and professional. I would recommend this property.

Living at Valo has been a great experience. Its very dog friendly, concierge service is spectacular and its always clean! My apartment is beautiful and maintenance has been on top of it lately. My only complaints are that we do not receive alerts when there are crime activities near the area and the length of time it took for the garage doors to be repaired. We pay a lot to live here and safety is #1 priority within a community. I havent had issues personally, however I do not feel safe walking around the block or to the grocery store at night.

Valo is clean, chic, and luxurious. I love the floorplan I have (1BR with a den and balcony) and the views from up high. I love that there's a pool on the 9th floor AND a rooftop hangout with additional lounge chairs and space. I appreciate the Luxer package system, which allows me to retrieve my packages any time of day or night. It's great living here.

Beautiful units, stunning views if you're on a high enough floor. If not, expect to look at the hood across Maine street. Clean and very well kept. Small gym, could use more machines. Very nice rooftop. Best storage in units of all the buildings we toured in DC.

Hi Reader, I have been living at Crystal Square little over 1.5 years not renewing my lease any further. * Leasing team makes false promises. We were told that renovation would be over in 6 months, but it seems that restoration work is never-ending. Most of the facilities you can't use due to continuous repair work. Please take everything in writing at least confirm it on email if you have been promised something. * I work from home, but the continuous and loud noise of drilling and hammering gives me severe headaches. *As the building is quite old and every now and then they do the water and power shut-off due to leakages. Please don't go by cosmetic changes. * The other day all the elevators stopped working and I had to climb up 17 floors by stairs. Good luck with your apartment search.

I would not ever rent from this place, mainly because of staff. They are unprofessional and very rude. Also, there are some safety concerns, the location is least which I wanted for my family to live in.

Moved in a month ago. 5 different hotel guests (4 out of the 5 were families) across the hall from me. Management keeps saying they are taking action, but nothing has changed. There are 3 rooms on booking.com for the hotel if you want to take a preview of the apartment complex for the night. Typically half the pool is hotel guests and their kids on the weekends. The other 25% is the lifeguard and all her friends. A great apartment complex, however, there are hotel guests everywhere.

I moved in 5 days ago and am so in love with this building. It’s bright and clean, and the staff are so friendly! They have been very responsive to my emails and event sent someone to personally teach me how to use the thermostat!
This building is absolutely stunning and has everything you need in this location. The management and leasing staff is beyond wonderful, the pricing is amazing and spacious apartments. The dog spa and gym are amazing as well. There are so many perks to this place that you will love to live here, I enjoy and love my new place. Thanks Valo team for making this more than home!
