One of the nicer neighborhoods in Albuquerque and very conveniently located. The security is good and, although old, the complex is well maintained. The apartments seem to be well built and have been nicely updated.

I lived there for 18 months, two years ago. Staff was very nice. Repairs were always done promptly. However: (1) The apartment complex went HUD, during the time I lived there, and current residents were not informed. It took all of us a while to figure out what was going on. (2) The pool was always dirty -- always. (3) There is a cell phone tower on top of one of the two buildings, which was put up while I was there, and residents weren't informed of that either; (4) The 'state of the art' workout room consists of two treadmills and a TV. Last but not least, I have no idea how they measure utility bills but my monthly bills -- and a lot of others' bills -- were extremely high every month, and there was no way to check to make sure that we were being billed properly. I don't think I was ever intentionally cheated, but I do think that the staff -- the one(s) who figured out these bills -- didn't always know what they were doing when it came to correctly figuring out these bills. As I said, the staff was very nice, repairs are done quickly, and the views, for most of the apartments, are gorgeous. But the monthly rents and utility bills were (and still are) outrageous for those of us who were not HUD. And unless there has been a real makeover in the past two years, the whole place is a little shabby, simply from wear and tear over the years.

Located in Albuquerque's Uptown area, Uptown Square has so much to offer. The Apartments are solidly built, concrete construction. The units have high ceilings, and spacious rooms. There are also large balconies or porches for every unit. There is a large community room, a media center & library, a combination indoor-outdoor pool, jacuzzi, dry heat saunas, and fitness center. There is a controlled access parking lot with carports and garages. Access to each of the two buildings is controlled by key or a keypad system if you have company. We feel very safe and protected here. There is a huge sense of community, and it feels like having an extended family. There are a number of residents who have lived here for more than 30 years. My husband and I have just signed our 14th lease. We know most of our neighbors and we love living in a high-rise building. Our neighbors and the staff are wonderful. We are also close to three shopping malls, a Trader Joe's, good schools, and a number of restaurants, cafes, and local businesses. I often tell new tenants that they are not just getting an apartment - they are getting a family along with a beautiful place to live. My husband and I are so happy here that we wouldn't think of living anywhere else.

I lived in this complex for 2 years and loved it. I lived on the 7th floor and had the best view in Albuquerque. My place was quiet, which is my number one thing when choosing a place to live. Staff was courteous and maintenance was prompt. I hope to return to this place someday.
