Property Ratings at Uptown 550
Amenities are the biggest draw for this complex. But, the bar has gone downhill. The barista is frequently unavailable. Resident Events aren’t what they used to be. Staff (outside of concierge) is no longer pleasant. Walls in common areas look rundown. You have to pay to use the cabanas at the pool. There’s valet trash in the mid-rise, but not the tower. The rooftop patio is infested with large roaches. Plumbing issues are an ongoing nightmare. Work orders go unresolved for months. Water has had a smell for 5 months with no information provided until I was intentionally late on rent just to get an update. They’ll give you a concession to shut you up and then expect you to just deal with any and everything because of the small concession they offered. Maintenance will come into your unit unannounced, even if you ask for a heads up because you work from home. Leasing staff is friendly when you tour but will treat you like a stranger off the street once you move in and have an issue. They can’t even be bothered to provide refrigerator filters anymore. They’ll also put the wrong size air filter in if you don’t pay attention. Walls are thin so if your neighbor is loud or you’re by a common area, you just have to deal.

Thanks 550 for not only providing us with some pretty amazing amenities including the dog parks that my fur babies absolutely love. Also for making this more than just a place to live but somewhere that feels like home, especially with concierge. Jalauni is always there with a smile, warm words that can make the worst days feel better and would even go out his way to assist with carrying groceries or just any questions i have. Concierge Dion is always there to help as well as give me laughs when I come in. Jalauni and Dion have no idea how their amazing energy and willingness to help really changes the trajectory of our day sometimes. This has been an amazing experience!

The reviews written 5/5/20 were during a promotional offer to get a free bottle of tequila to leave a positive review. This place is awful. The construction is shoddy. The 6th floor and below continually flooded and we had water damage in our ceiling. Our oven was broken for 7+ months and we couldn't get maintenance to fix it. Our water filter needed to be replaced and maintenance said that they didn't have any replacements so just disabled the indicator light. Management didn't enforce any covid precautions and still had their private bar open on the 21st floor. People continually threw things off the balcony. The dog parks are filthy and there were multiple days where there was dog waste in the hallways. Their fire alarms are faulty and went off all the time requiring evacuation. There are only two elevators for the tower so if someone is moving in/out you only have one elevator to service 21 stories; there are times you would wait 10+ minutes for an elevator.
NWR properties are like no other. The amenities are superb, the staff is amazing and the units are beautiful. While this is week one, Uptown 550 is THE address to live. The tower provides a living experience that will change your life. I am so proud to call it home!
We met Alexis at lunch today. She convinced me and my buddies to come by for a tour after we mentioned that we were looking for a new place. She gave the best tour experience. The property and all the amenities were amazing! The rooftop bar was lit! She took the time to explain all the questions we had, and was very enthusiastic. Highly recommend Uptown 550 and look forward to being future residents.
We didn't provide notice to vacate in the specified time in our lease. Not much of a heads up was provided. We had to pay for an extra month of rent, which is understandable. However, they charged us double for that time. Definitely not market price and unfair during a pandemic in my opinion.
The amenities at this complex seem great when you first tour. But the poor construction of this building far outweighs the benefit of a nice rooftop bar. There are other complexes out there with the same types of services. The front line staff in the leasing office are pretty nice but nothing gets addressed to the standards you’d expect in this type of establishment. And upper management could care less about you.
I have loved my time at uptowwn 550! It is always very clean, the staff is super friendly, and the amenities are amazing. My favorite is the sauna! Not to mention the walking distance to uptown and so many restaurants and activities.
I have been living here for 2 months now, and I couldn't be happier that I made the choice to live in Uptown550. The location is absolutely amazing, a 5 minute walk to SouthEnd, or a 2 minute walk to the Spectrum Center - it's everything I could have ever asked for. The apartments themselves are modern, and are a very clean style. The amenities themselves really drive the entire experience as well - beautiful pool, gym, and rooftop bar! Don't think twice - choose to live in Uptown550.

I have been a resident for 2 months at Uptown 550 and couldn't be more pleased with my experience thus far! Being a Charlotte native, living in multiple communities around the area, and having just moved back after 2 years of renting in San Francisco, I can confidently say that living here is a treat! The quality of the interiors is a step above many other rental options in uptown Charlotte. Being a new building, there were a few minor maintenance items early on that were addressed quickly and precisely. With outstanding amenities to offer, the staff has done an incredible job at providing resident events that are creating a true sense of community among residents. They have offered free weekly small group fitness classes, botox and spa facials, trivia nights, and cookouts. Mario, Desmond, Engrid, Erica, and Gamal have been ultra available and accommodating. It's never easy to keep residents happy when you are supporting a property that is still partially under construction, but the leasing and maintenance staff are handling it beautifully and creating a community experience anyone would want to be a part of! I moved to Uptown 550 two weeks ago and I absolutely love this place. The amenities are incredible and the location is perfect. I am walking distance from Target, Trader Joe’s and multiple parks. The prices are extremely competitive and the entire staff, Mario, Erica, Engrid and Desmond are so helpful!
I can't recommend this place enough. Brand new building, staff goes above and beyond and they're so accommodating (Mario and Desmond are both so amazing and helpful and made the move-in process so smooth. They're on top of everything). Maintenance requests are completed very quickly and the maintenance staff is so kind. The apartment itself is absolutely perfect - the floorpan was so well designed, all of the appliances are top quality and I haven't heard any noise from any of my neighbors at all. Floor to ceiling windows provide so much light, and the dimmers in every room are such a nice touch. Tons of kitchen counter space, barn doors, and I have enough room for a sectional and a 4-person dining table. There's also a mud-room area and shelving when you walk in, so you aren't cramped at all. Very reasonably priced as well. One other thing I love is that it's just a 3 minute walk to Whole Foods, a 30 second drive to get on the highway and it is never difficult to get out of the parking garage, even during rush hour traffic. Even though it's still under construction, I don't find it to be an inconvenience at all, and they're making so much progress daily. Excited to see it all finished because the amenities will be the best in Charlotte. They've thought of everything. I could ramble on, but bottom line is I would recommend this to anyone looking to move uptown.
Not even sure where to begin! I recently signed a lease at Uptown 550 and the entire experience- from start to finish- was absolutely amazing! Moving can be super stressful, but Mario, Desmond, Gamal & their whole crew went above and beyond to ensure a seamless & enjoyable process! I am so excited to live here and am proud to call Uptown 550 my home!
