Though originally part of a planned community intended to give its residents the best of city life with the feel of a suburban paradise, Merced Manor-Parkmerced provides the area with affordable housing, as well as access to local public transportation and a vast shopping center called the Galleria.
When first built in the early 1940s and 1950s, this area was considered the height of modernity. These days, Merced Manor-Parkmerced still features the best in shopping, dining and convenience, while also housing many University of San Francisco students in a quaint, almost throwback atmosphere.
