Along Connecticut Avenue, a major commercial and transportation hub of Northwest D.C., lies the neighborhood of Forest Hills. Students from the University of District Columbia and the nearby American University infuses a college vibe into a neighborhood that also contains foreign embassies and their dignitaries.
The neighborhood lies a bit north from the main downtown area of D.C., yet the red metro line that runs along Connecticut Avenue makes this neighborhood ideal for those who want a little more peace and quiet after a day's work while still having prime access to all nightlife activities of downtown.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Tilden Hall Apartments
A so-so building is plagued by terrible, greedy management. The place was renovated a few years back but is getting steadily trashier - literally. They don't control noisy tenants and late night parties, cleaning is not done often enough. Security is a joke (once, a disturbed stranger walked right in and started an actual fire in one of the unlocked apartments.) It's a city, this stuff happens, but don't trust that this is a safe building just because the lobby looks nice. But worst of all is the awful management who will make completely false claims to fine you money. After deep cleaning the place, a full TWO MONTHS after moving out, I get emailed that I owe them a fine for over $100 because my unit had, apparently, "dust" (dust, after two months? wow.) Glad I'm out. Prospective tenants, avoid at all cost, the in-unit washer/dryer is not worth how they treat you.
And there is something wrong with it every week... since moving in there has been AT LEAST 1-3 utility shut offs per month. The amenities(set to be open back in December) are still not open, with no real date in sight anymore. The fire alarms go off early in the morning, it's easier just to assume it's a false alarm anymore. The building was without heating for THREE WEEKS in the coldest part of winter(the heating was overheating...not sure what will happen in summer)! The finishes in the apartments feel super luxurious, until you realize that most of them were rushed(and when brought to attention it could be more than a month to get repairs). But the positive note is that it's a GREAT location. Oh, and they have a referral program...
