Located about an hour’s drive northeast of New York City, Stamford’s downtown area provides residents with shopping, entertainment, and dining on a much smaller, more intimate scale than the Big Apple. As the heart of Stamford, Downtown Stamford is packed with trendy restaurants, theaters, bars, and live music venues. Downtown also remains lively with multiple events held here throughout the year including Stamford Downtown Farmers Markets, Arts & Crafts on Bedford, and Art Collective. If locals aren’t exploring local businesses, you might find them at a nearby greenspace like Mill River Park and there are several beaches just three miles away. The neighborhood is similar to other city centers. Downtown Stamford features luxury lofts and apartments available for rent, but there are also houses and townhomes available at moderately priced rates.

Property Ratings at The Windemere
Been living here 2 months. Super is awful. Has nearly left me in tears multiple times. A horrible man who needs to get a new job. Sends chills up my spine every time I see him. 0 social skills and has threatened me and my partner with fines. The management group (Pyramid) is also terrible and everyone there has a bad attitude. Probably will move out when lease is up due purely to these two reasons. My landlord is great as is the unit.
I can second the review below that the Super is one of the worst people I have come across in my time of renting. He has repeatedly displayed aggressive, inappropriate behavior to numerous females on the property including leaving my fiancé in tears multiple times. He is constantly harassing tenants on my floor with pets threatening to fine them, he even has threatened to fine tenants for walking their dogs under the building across the street in inclement weather. When I made the complaint to Pyramid Group (property manager) I received no response and my complaint went ignored. Not even an empty apology returned. I can also second the complaint that the elevators never work, as we have not had 2 elevators operating in approximately 6 months. Still no indication of when they will both be in service. The treatment and lack of caring by the Super makes this an undesirable place to live if you are a woman. He will repeatedly accost you in the building and has zero social skills. We should have been tipped off after he entered our apartment after our lease term started and removed numerous kitchen items we had moved over prior to moving in the furniture. These items never resurfaced or were returned, we never got an explanation or an apology either. I cannot recommend this building if any women will be living there or if any pets will be in the apartment. There are numerous other instances I could complain about but they all revolve around the Super and his conduct towards residents. Overall the building is fine (old but priced accordingly) and is a nice location close to downtown. That is where the positives end.
Avoid at all costs. The building's super is the worst human being we've ever encountered, verbally accosting both me, my girlfriend, and my mother. He's constantly complaining about the job HE signed up for. He's reason alone to avoid this place. Need more? Okay, the building is as old as the dirt it stands on, will probably collapse in a year or two. Like walking up tight staircases? You're in luck because the elevators NEVER work. The doors are constantly open, or the garage doors are broken and set open until fixed. Constantly flooding. The heat and AC units are so bad it's not even worth turning on unless you enjoy the sound of airplane engines. There's no where to walk your animals. Oh, and did I mention putting up with a Super that's constantly rude to you?
