Historic architecture, local flavor, wooded neighborhoods, and a small town feel perfectly describes Mount Pleasant. Just two miles from downtown Washington DC, Mount Pleasant borders the Smithsonian National Zoo and Rock Creek Park. This famous zoo brings in tourists from all over to see thousands of animals, including tigers, elephants, and giant pandas. Rock Creek Park offers residents an urban oasis with hiking and biking trails, tennis courts, golf course, and more. For a city plaza, visit Lamont Park, host to the weekend Famer’s Market. Bring your furry friend on a leash and check it out!
Mount Pleasant is filled with vintage storefronts, housing local restaurants, bars, and shops. Visit Beau Thai, named Washington’s “Best Thai Restaurant,” for an industrial atmosphere with a full bar. Bring the whole family to a renovated brick townhouse at the Purple Patch and explore Filipino cuisine.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Vintage
I have lived in my current unit for 6 months now and it’s the worst decision I’ve ever made. The Vintage is advertised as “luxury” building however, it’s anything but that. There building is crawling with roaches and management will pretend that it’s something new though everyone in the building knows otherwise. I’ve caught a few COMING INTO MY APARTMENT!! Separately, there sketchy people outside the building at all hours of the day, who also hang out on the steps (smoking cigarettes, weed, playing loud music, etc.). There are constant foul smells, including the entrance (sewage), on every floor (especially the first, which smells like a mix of sewage and lingering cigarettes), and the elevator (urine as well as sweat/ musk). Additionally, some people get into domestic disputes - there are officers in the building on a weekly basis. Other tenants play music quite loudly which will echo in the entrance alley and the smell of marijuana is signature scent of The Vintage. Appliances need constant fixing because everything is sensitive. Though each unit has a water heater, you won’t be able to take a shower for longer than 10 minutes before it gets really cold. As someone who’s lived in luxury buildings across the world, this is not only a disappointment but also just false advertising. Though on-site staff are nice & accommodating (such as maintenance & front desk), folks in upper corporate management do not care about any of the issues & prioritize profits over tenants. You’re better off literally living anywhere else than here. I wish I had known all of this before…
The Vintage has been great since I moved in. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The property itself is very well maintained. And the location is by far the best perk!
