I really love living here. You can tell that the staff really cares. They are always putting on events which really makes you feel at home/like you are apart of a community. The cleaning staff is always cleaning, the trash fairies service is a luxury I didn't know I needed. I feel very safe walking around at night/in the garage. The building is secure and are well maintained. I love living next to the canal and near Casa Del Barco. I loved this place so much I recommended that my best friend live here! One rec: Fixing the awful noise from the parking garage door. It's SO loud. And would love some updated equipment in the gym :)

I've lived at the Locks for 1 year. The management and maintenance staff are so polite and welcoming. The manager of the complex, Chase, is always open to our questions & host great events. Our puppy loves the area because their are so many areas for dogs to play and explore. The location is my favorite because I love to take daily walks around the community. We currently have a one bedroom w/ a large walk in space (we call our game room) that accommodates our needs very much.

The locks apartment complex is situated in the best location in Richmond, a perfect combination of downtown access and relaxation on the river/canal/park environment. The cleaning, maintenance, and leasing staff have also all been fantastic. Overall, it is a great place to live and the first lease I will be renewing.

I've been here for 3 weeks now and I love this place. We have an interior apartment in the White Byrd building and the noise level is great. Occasionally we might hear the neighbors - a rowdy weekend gathering or their dogs nails on the floor, but the walls aren't as thin as what I imagined from an apartment situation. We hear absolutely no street noise, the occasional siren and planes, and the train whistle can be heard faintly at times. Parking is relatively easy, I pay for the garage parking which can be tricky working late hours but ive never had to go any higher than the 3rd level of the deck and the open spaces are right by the stairwell. Its definitely worth the additional fee, the spaces in front of the building are always packed full by the end of the night and there's no public parking anywhere closer. The staff here are amazing, trash pick up is always on schedule, the cleaning crew are in frequently, and the maintenance is so fast and efficient. I cannot speak highly enough of Hailey from the leasing office, she was so patient during our application and leasing process with my many many questions and helped me find the space that was perfect for what I needed.

The Locks Apartments is a great place to live and I love that it's not a cookie-cutter community. The property is unique and there are so many different floor plans. It's convenient to downtown, Shockoe Slip, Shockoe Bottom, and Manchester. The vibe here is great, with the old warehouse buildings nestled between the tall downtown buildings and the James River. The staff is office professional, and they are very good at what they do. The maintenance staff is attentive, and things are typically handled right away. The property is clean and very well-maintained.

I have been a resident of the locks for 3.5 years and I am sad to be leaving. The Locks has by far been the best place I've ever rented from. Everyone is super accommodating, maintenance requests are addressed promptly, and the quality of my apartment and the community are at the standard I'm paying for. The community is very solid and I keep in touch with my neighbors who have moved because it's so close-knit. I will miss the Locks dearly and they will be the first on my list to call if I return to RVA.

We're so happy we moved in to The Locks. The location is incredible, especially the proximity to the Canal and all the restaurants and bars we love downtown. Parking is pretty steep, and there is definitely a lack of guest parking, but it could be worse. The building and amenities are always clean and inviting.

This location is fantastic. The size of our apartment is good for the price. I feel safe walking around this community alone at night. Those are the positives. The negatives: The apartment has spiders... very large and very numerous. I asked for extermination, and I still have spiders. The dishwasher smells like a moldy towel. I have run 'Finish' through it 3 times and I cleaned the filter. I logged a maintenance ticket and they replaced the motor. My dishwasher still smells like a moldy towel. The icing on the cake? This morning, I stepped on a cockroach while getting dog food out of the pantry. Barefoot. I submitted yet another maintenance ticket and called the emergency maintenance number. No response - and I still have roaches. I haven't lived in an apartment for about 20 years, so I'm not sure what's "normal" anymore. Palm-sized spiders, disgusting dishwashers, and ROACHES -- normal???

The apartment community is located in a great part of Richmond. The amenities are very nice and Stephanie from the leasing office made everything so easy for me to move in. My one piece of advise for everyone, check EVERYTHING in the apartment before moving in. I had a good amount of issues that needed to be addressed, but so do most apartments before moving in. Overall, its a nice apartment and the leasing office is absolutely wonderful which in my opinion, makes it worth it.

She really listen to what we wanted in a living space & showed us options. We could had went with any of the units she showed us! Since moving in, weve had a great experience! It truly has been a seamless move on their end, no hidden cost/fees, which is always nice so no surprises on our end.

We love the Locks! First, we love being in the heart of downtown Richmond. We are walkable distance from work, nature, nightlife, and restaurants, but away from chaos. Second, our Maintenance Team provides exceptional service as they are always here within hours of the work order and ready to assist. Lastly, amenities, amenities, amenities! On the weekend, I can lounge by the pool and drop into Casa del Barco for a drink.

Great apartment with excellent amenities. Very clean. Area feels safe and is a short walk to downtown. Great running path along the James River nearby.

There are definitely improvements to be made but this has been the best place I have ever lived. Mostly the management company is easy to work with which I feel is the biggest assetwhen renting a property with a location and amenities like The Locks

While new apartment complexes pop up all around Richmond, The Locks continues to offer the coveted converted warehouse experience along with well kept amenities all in an unbeatable location. New isn't always better. The community has been very well maintained and I sometimes feel like I'm staying at a resort.
