The University District, affectionately dubbed the U District, is home to the preeminent University of Washington. Lending historic architecture and blooming cherry blossoms in the spring, the University of Washington contains a range of gardens, galleries, and theaters in addition to sports complexes and a medical center.
Should you choose to rent in the U District, you will have the opportunity to bike the Burke-Gilman trail, kayak Union and Portage Bays, savor cocktails and a film at Sundance Cinemas, swing by the Saturday Farmers Market, celebrate touchdowns at Husky Stadium, check out the independent restaurants and funky shops along the Ave, and attend the annual U District StreetFair.
The U District sits about five miles north of Downtown Seattle, with convenience to Green Lake Park, Woodland Park Zoo, the Fremont Troll, and Gas Works Park.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Kennedy Building
Asked to see a one-bedroom, was shown a two-bedroom. This was a very nice unit with a spacious kitchen, beautiful countertops, a large bathroom vanity, and full-sized, front-loading washer and dryer. These were the features that really sold me on the place. I normally won’t do business with a property that charges both pet deposit and pet rent, but opted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I asked point-blank twice whether the unit I would be getting would look like what I just saw and was told yes except the bedroom would be lofted and the main floor would be wood. I raved about how excited I was about the kitchen and nothing was said to the contrary. The application process was a pain as they send everything via text message to complete on your phone. There were technical problems that took a day to work out and I never was able to view the unit I’d move into via the link they sent. When I finally did arrive for move-in, I found a place that had a small kitchen with laminate counters, a laminate vanity that extends only inches from the sink, and top-loading apartment-sized washer and dryer along with a host of problems such as scratches, chips, paint splatter, and some safety issues. It took the manager three days to get back to me only to disregard anything I had to say even when asked what I wanted them to do. The only solution offered was that I could move into another unit but would have to requalify, pay whatever that rent was, face early termination for not giving 30-days notice, and pay a $200 cleaning fee for an apartment I never moved into. They had no intention of doing anything to rectify the situation nor give me any respect. Don’t waste your time even visiting this place.
