The Brownstones at Englewood South

Molds in the hallway. Lights were off for a long time. We asked them to fix this for many times but nothing gets done, other than that it is reasonable place to live.

Feels like home right when you move in! We love all the amenities here as well as our apartment looks which is one of the remodeled, lighter colored aroma.

I do overall really enjoy my experience here. My only complaints are I continue to see residents walking their dogs off leash not matter how many times I address it or how. Unless it was fixed in the last 2 days the knob to the fire pit has been gone rendering the pit unusable for at least 6 months now, and since I moved here 11 months ago, the dog park has never had running water for the fillable bowl. Also whoever keeps leaving piles of gigantic dog waste, multiple at times, INSIDE THE DOG PARK needs to be fined. That is a health hazard to other dogs and a blatant slap in the face to the other people who live here to not pick it up right next to a trash bin. I'm also still disappointed that there shuffleboard table is gone with no new game of some kind to take its place. There is a good selection of games there but the pool sticks are all in poor condition. But the front desk, leasing office, maintenance staff, and grounds crew are all outstanding.

Different vibe since moving here...not that friendly.... Hallways a mess, missing lighting and water damage by elevators and only 1 working.

We are here almost 9 years. We enjoy the social gatherings and community feeling. The grounds are well maintained and the hallways and elevators are always clean.We hope to be here for many more years. The only drawback is the noise from a few neighbors but we have out stayed them.

While lots of things have been great and leasing agent has been wonderful, appliance item was not functioning on day 1 and has not been fixed by day 6.

Not as quiet and peaceful as it used to be. I’m noticing a lot lately that there has been a lot of police activity on the weekends since tenants are inviting guests who are fighting.

Great community with access to shopping, restaurants, and easy highway access. The staff is very professional and friendly. Outside parking for guests can be challenging

Well maintained landscape, quiet residence. Maintenance crew really efficient. Major highways nearby. Recently added 4 EV chargers but chargers are NOT complimentary. Overall great place to live.

Have been living at the brownstones for almost 2 years now. Quiet community, close proximity to the highway, safe location. Would recommend!

Great potential. Office staff work very hard to give everyone a nice experience. Concierge is open for package pick up at inopportune times 10am-8pm. If you on the side near the audi dealership and train tracks noise can be an issue. Apartments are nice location is prime. Everything you need is nearby. There are many things i would prefer were fixed. Most notably the disregard of the non smoking community guidelines by other residents but you can’t win them all. These apartments are clean and pest free they are updated and modern.

The apartment complex and amenities are great. However, one downside is the temperature of the building and noise levels between the floors.

I love living in a place where my wife and me feel accepted and apart of our community. The staff is more than supportive and accommodating within reason. Neighbors are very friendly and ok, there are always that one person but who is that person. We have enjoyed living here happily for several years and look forward to several more. The convenience of living close to the NYC area is great. We are at our workplace location within minutes in the morning. The community event are great and we look forward to another ADULT Game nite! So worth the experience of living at the Brownstone in South Englewood!!!!!

Everything is great. Anytime you need something, the office & maintenance staff are there to help. The office always plans events for residents each month.

This is a great community and we love loving here! The staff is so nice, the free events hosted by the building are amazing and the amenities make us feel like we live in a hotel! Not to mention the doggy park and dog friendly vibe that makes our pup happy too!

Everyone is very attentive to requests/needs. Repairs to individual apartment are done quickly after request for repair made. Residents are friendly.

We have been at the Brownstones for 18 years and are very happy with management staff and maintenance staff. They are all friendly and professional.

I have lived at the Brownstone‘s for many years (since 2009). The apartment experience is great! I have a duplex apartment with two bedrooms and three bathrooms, on two floors! If I have any problems, repairs are made quickly and the building is meticulously maintained. However, the grounds are something else. Dog poop is noted everywhere and small amounts of garbage are present. The grass is in terrible condition, especially along the walks. They hire an outside company to deal with snow removal, and it churns up the grass into chunks of sod along the side of the walks. In many areas, of the grass has evolved into mud. Because I am a dog walker, this influences my experience of the property.

I love how comfortable and at ease The Brownstones makes my sister and I feel. Their maintenance crew is quick and attentive and the staff are so accommodating whenever you’re in need. Such an amazing community to live!

This apartment complex is a fairly safe choice. Safety issues are my primary concern when choosing a rental property; the Brownstone apartment overall has provided me with a convenient and safe environment.

My apartment is not what I was told it would look like except the kitchen cabinets. Showing a model home and getting something different is insane. The building is run down in aesthetics. For example the walls by the elevator are all dirty and marked up. The stairwell is so dirty where no one has painted the walls for years. Hallway carpets all stained. Garbage room walls and chutes all look run down. No “speed sign” in the garage so cars drive so fast where a driver almost hit myself and my dog getting to the dog park. Apt doors are painted after use. There’s so much more as well. Overpriced for a complex who’s embarrassing to invite guests because how unaesthetic it presents itself !

Brownstone is amazing and leasing office is so kind. I love the neighborhood and facilities of here brownstone. Everything is convenient and lovely.

I give the community 5 stars due to the great staff of the leasing office and maintenance staff. The apartment/townhouses would be a 4 rating as there are areas that could be improved, such as the carpet, would absolutely love and need a bigger pool. The pool is too small especially when the adults are trying to enjoy the pool among the numerous children present. Overall the pool is too small to accommodate the amount of residents.

The community and apartments seem nice at a glance but these apartments are far from luxury even though the rent prices are pretty high. All materials and fixtures used are very cheap and fall apart and breakdown frequently. The maintenance team cannot keep up with all the issues of the apartments and repairs are painfully slow. The apartments are also poorly insulated and electricity bill is always high. The street adjacent to the building, Nordhoff place is rather quiet on the weekends but during the weekdays, there is surprisingly high traffic including large trucks. If you work remotely, it will drive you insane if you have an apartment that face Nordhoff. I really hate living here and cannot wait to move out.

I've recently moved here and so far; it has been extremely pleasant and welcoming. The staff is great and helpful. It's also very clean. The convenience of the shops locations is also great.

Peaceful environment. Maintenance is amazing. Any issue I had with my apartment, my online request was quickly managed and fixed within hours. Landscape well kept. Concierge staff very friendly and so accommodating. I needed my package picked up but I was unable to do so because I was working during the concierge hours. I called the concierge and he delivered and left the package at my door.

The staff are very friendly and I feel like the apartment facilities are well maintained, so I am completely satisfied. One disadvantage is that there are not many outdoor parking lots, so if you arrive late, you have to walk around for a long time to find a place to park.

Great community: overall atmosphere is inclusive and friendly, quiet, yet sociable as there are often events on the grounds, including movies nights during the summer / fall months. A great deal of effort goes into finding ways to support a community experience for all! I stand firm in my statement that this a great community for individuals and more importantly, families. Do consider, calling it your new home!

Good luck getting anything handled. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of the office staff. There is dog poop everywhere. The new “lifestyle fee” should be used to powerwash the sidewalks so it doesn’t smell like dog urine everytime it rains.

Nothing in life is perfect. With that being said. Outside of the things that we have no control over, the property is great. Whenever you bring up an issue, the maintenance crew handles as soon as possible. The management staff is friendly, respectful and very responsible with issues. We have had a lackluster management staff prior the the current staff. Hope this crew stays as long as possible. The management company has made many improvements to the property. Since moving here about 5 yrs ago, the atmosphere here has dramatically improved. Thank for all you do!!

Office staff are very attentive to any issues that arise and always available. Other tenants are nice and very respectful of everyone else living here.

Though everyone has been friendly so far, I'm disappointed in how small the apt is. We never got to see the apt and only saw the model apt. The apt was misleading. Would like more space but it's not worth the money

Great location, the grounds are beautiful, staff is awesome, and the property is very well set up with different places to relax/entertain/play games. It's really nice living here and it was important to me how dog friendly the community is.
