A tree-filled Vernon Hills -- with its winding lanes and period light posts -- resembles a rural community more than a suburb of Chicago, but this terrific city is about 35 miles from Downtown Chicago -- a one-hour ride on the Metra. The Vernon Hills Metra Station is located on the south side of the city, near Hawthorn Club Park. Take Ranney Avenue off Highway 45. If you find a Vernon Hills apartment within biking distance, you'll find plenty of bike racks at the station.
Vernon Hills is considered a shopping destination for much of the surrounding communities; it features several popular shopping plazas and the Hawthorn Mall. The mall is located near the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Townline Road. Several restaurants, bars, movie theaters, an ice-skating rink, and a bowling alley are also in this area.
With its beautiful setting, residents of Vernon Hills have access to a variety of parks and lakes.

Living at the Artworth has been nothing short of an awesome experience. The Apartment complex is very neat, smells nice, the finishing is excellent, it’s located in a high-brow area that is safe. All the apartment events are great and the Staff are professional!!!

I have now lived at The Atworth over 6 years and still love it!! There are a few things in the apartment that seem to be ongoing as issues with moisture and sealed windows but all in all it still is a nice place to live! I like my Studio and it’s location. I love the neighborhood and it is a perfect location to so much!! I of course love the pool and the gym as well .

The Atworth has been an amazing community for me these last 2 years! I love the cleanliness of these apartments, my apartment will never be as clean as when I first received it. The hallways are always taken care of very well and the property looks pristine. The maintenance staff and office staff are both amazing people to work with. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for somewhere quiet and calm to settle down at.

The building is well maintained inside and out with easy access to mail, package delivery and parking. The Atworth has amenities for tenants and pets alike and is located steps away from shopping, dining and groceries. I love living here. It is more than a community, but a place to call home. So many things to do that are set up through the Management. You are not just a resident, they remember you. Plus the service is top notch!

Melody Farms is a beautiful place to live with great amenities. The location fits our needs with Whole Foods, restaurants, hair/nail salons and shopping within the development.

Met a lot of great people living here. Pool is great when open. The other amenities are average. Overall, in my opinion after living here for over 2 years, the cost exceeds the value. A potential renter may want to look elsewhere until rates become reasonable again. This will likely happen once the new apartments open across the street at Hawthorn Mall.
