Disappointed with lack of security and cameras. Break ins and theft are too frequent and the Alexan offers no effective solutions

Hello, we aren’t aware of any recent break-ins. We’d love to hear from you to find out more about your concerns. While we can't guarantee anyone's safety, we do offer many deterrents to potential thieves. Our community is gated and all exterior access points require a fob. We have cameras throughout common areas of high traffic in the community and at the entrances and exits of our garages (our neighborhood watch officers reviewed their placement for effectiveness). We have a courtesy patrol who comes through our garage and community several times a night and provides detailed reports of each stop. They also assist by alerting us when residents leave valuables in their cars so we can reach out to remind them to TAKE LOCK HIDE. We do ask that residents do their part to keep our community and garage free from thieves by taking belongings home when they park, hiding any valuables that might be left in the car, and locking the vehicle. Very nice property, larger floor plans than most uptown places, very convenient spot right on the Katy Trail and very near the AAC plus so many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Friendly neighbors, nice rooftop pool and a 2nd larger pool area downstairs

I’ve been here at the Alexan for a month now and I absolutely love it!The staff takes their time to get to know their residents while helping during the move in process and making sure we know about the community events.There is flexibility and opportunities here at the property as well I do travel and they advised that the property was Airbnb friendly!You would think it would be loud and noisy in the area but my place is absolute tranquility I love it here!

Can cut off your electronic payment privileges and force you to pay by cashier's check. Live somewhere else I had a payment returned and was told that moving forward I could only pay with Cashier's checks moving forward. This is an insane requirement. It places a huge burden on myself and I am sure others

This place is awful. It looks nice from the outside and the self guided tour is designed to keep you away from the trouble spots. If you come to the Alexan for a tour, find some residents and ask them what they think of the place, REALLY think of the place like don't hold back. You'll hear multitudes of reasons why most of the residents don't like it here. A few bullet points Cars are broken into regularly, even sometimes stolen, in the parking garage Almost no cameras in the building, the ones they have I'm not convinced they work Property vandalized regularly, when it's their stuff they ask for ring doorbell footage and say they are doing everything they can, when it's your property oh well file a police report Rent is increasing 20-30% across the board while still having these issues The dog park area, where the entrance/exit to the trail is constantly smells like urine. If you get an apartment near it, it will always stink on your balcony.

Don't bother even trying to move here. The best way I can describe this place is unprofessional and a bait and switch. I toured the complex on a Saturday, visited two layouts and told the agent that I liked the Kessler layout as it was of what I was looking for and in my price range. I was given a quote in person, on paper and was also told I would be emailed a link with the quote to apply. I thought it over and then was planning on applying for the apartment on Monday. When I opened the email to apply, I noticed I was only sent an offer for the other layout that I toured. The office was closed that Sunday and Monday so I called them up on Tuesday to explain the situation and that I wanted to apply, but never received the quote I was given in person. I was told that quote is not available to me anymore as it had been over 48 hours, but the office was not open the prior 2 days for me to get the assistance I needed. Instead I was offered the same apartment for $250 more a month than quoted. The following day, another agent reached out asking why I hadn't applied and the rate had again increased another $200. So in the matter of 4 days (2 days that the office was actually open) the monthly rate increased about 25%, and they still weren't willing to offer the quote that I was given in person, in writing. If this is how they are going to treat a potential future resident I can't even imagine how they must treat their current residents. All in all a very unpleasant experience and very unprofessional by the apartment building and its staff

The Alexan is a beautiful and well-maintained property in a dream location. I’ve had wonderfully positive experiences with staff and feel comfortable and welcome in the community. Disclaimer: I’ve only been a resident for a few weeks. I value the opinions of long-term residents. But honestly, I can’t say enough great things about The Alexan. I love loving here. It’s simply a great vibe. Pros: Well maintained grounds, luxury amenities, ideal location, chill community. Cons: Surrounding areas seem to be “underdeveloped” and I’ve heard car break ins and bike theft have been an issue. I have personally felt quite safe in my short time here but I remain cautious.

I've been staying in the Alexan for 2 weeks and everything has been almost perfect. The move-in process was very smooth and the staff here cannot be more supportive and helpful. I have to give a shoutout to Paulie and Kristina for all their help between my application and move-in --- they were so helpful and patient with all my questions along the way. The unit appeared to be very clean and nice. I did have a small cockroach problem on the first couple of days with 2 giant ones sneaking across from nowhere. But I fixed it with some spray and everything is all good now. Definitely love everything so far, especially the location. A walk to Katy trail on the weekends is unbeatable!

I just moved to Dallas, all the way from Alabama. I was so scared my first week living alone but The Alexan feels like a family already. One of the leasing center staff even helped me jump start my car so I would not be late for work one morning.

The election is a wonderful place to live. I had searched the Dallas downtown area for the last four months and could not find a place that offered both comfort and luxury. However, once I came to visit the election I was convinced it was the place for me. They offer a variation of floorplans and price points that are a great value for the space per square foot. The atmosphere is suitable to my lifestyle and offers something for everyone. It’s one of the best living community within the Dallas.

The pool, dog park and common areas are often dirty. Work orders are submitted by the residents and they get closed without the issues being resolved. This happens every week. The park is often extremely dirty and should be cleaned multiple times a week as it is summer and it gets very smelly. The pool is dirty often not just the residents but by the chemicals that turn the water green, the pool gets closed every week for cleaning but it’s not ready for the weekend. I have submitted multiple work requests and all get closed.

Hello Joseph, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review about your experience. We only close work orders once the work is complete OR when the vendor has been called for a common area request such as the pool or pest control. If you have a work order for work inside your apartment that was closed without resolution I'd ask that you reach out to me at 469-904-6182 since I have not heard that reported recently. Because of the high traffic of our pool, it does require a lot of work to maintain. We have contracted out a pool company to assist us in keeping the pool clean and ask that our residents follow the pool guidelines in order to maintain its cleanliness as well. We ask that glass be kept out of the pool area and that drinks not be spilled/poured into the pool, we also ask that residents limit their guests to 2 per resident in order to help control the number of attendants at the pool each day. Pros: -Great leasing staff who took care of my initial concerns about my unit in a timely manner. -Great location, around a ton of main attractions -Great for single adults or empty nesters -Large units & large bedrooms -Cost effective compared to other communities with similar amenities -Near major highways Cons: -Parking is a bit confusing & building layout is also a bit confusing so figuring out where to park in the garage to get close to your unit can be challenging -Not really a family oriented community, I have a 1 yr old & a baby on the way & I might be the only one walking around with a stroller...lol! But great for single adults!! -would like to see more cameras in the parking garage & on the inside of the building for safety purposes

I love living at the Alexan! The building is beautiful and is kept up really well at all times of the year. The amenities are great and staff makes you feel like you are part of a family. They know you by name and are so kind! Other than being a little on the pricey side, I have no bad things to say about this place!
