Franconia is a neighborhood in southwest Alexandria just a few miles from Washington, DC. Franconia’s proximity to the Interstate 495 and 85 junction puts this city in an ideal location. The Franconia-Springfield Station, served by the WMATA (also known as the Metro), allows for easy commutes as well. Apartments, houses, condos, and townhouses make up the diverse rental market of Franconia and are priced similarly to rentals in the DC metro area.
The eastern border of Franconia partially encompasses the sprawling Huntley Meadows Park while other scenic parks dot the inside of the neighborhood. Franconia also contains a few restaurants and shopping centers, but a step west of the neighborhood will lead renters to a large cluster of shopping malls off Interstate 94, including Springfield Town Center and the Concord Shopping Center.

Overall, Windsor Kingstowne is very nice family friendly community. The grounds are well maintained; and the community is quiet and safe. There is some room for improvement for lighting in some areas of the parking lot but besides that this is still a crime free community and is a very nice place to live.

Windsor Kingstowne is an amazing place to stay. They staff is friendly. I lived here in 2018, loved it then and love it even more now. Everyone on the grounds is great! It really feels like a family community. I love the many different activities they have for the residents.

I've lived here for several years and feel the current management team is the most responsive group in my time here. The neighborhood has good options for walking, biking and other activities. It's hard to beat the Kingstowne area for groceries, other shopping, restaurants, and access to local travel options.

Great Living Experience at Windsor at Kingstowne I’ve been living at Windsor at Kingstowne, and I’m very satisfied with my experience here. The apartment is well-maintained, and the management is responsive and helpful. I’m especially impressed with the fast maintenance service—they always address any issues quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend this complex for anyone looking for a comfortable and hassle-free living environment.
I have been here for 6 years and love it! The management team is amazing - I have known Tsehai the longest and she is personable, attentive, caring and professional. Henry always handles any concern/question or need efficiently. The maintenance team is equally awesome – they are very efficient, friendly and professional.

Living at Windsor Kingstowne has been great! The entire team is very friendly and provides top tier help! Whenever I put in a maintenance request it’s always done in a timely manner and if I ever have questions they are more than willing to explain.
Windsor at Kingstowne is a very nice community to live in. The Office staff is friendly and professional. The Community is very well kept. The Mgmt team is always having different community events for it's residents. The area is safe, clean, and close to lots of shopping.
Windsor Kingstowne is a nice and safe community. I appreciate the periodic maintenance to the property. It seems that they are always looking for ways to improve across the board, instead of just keeping it nice on the surface to lure renters in. The management communicates very well and the community events are wonderful. I wish rent costs were not so high so I could upgrade to a bigger apartment. Overall I am very happy here.
It's only been 2 months but moving here was the best decision that I could have ever made. The staff are super friendly and Brandi was amazing with the move-in process. Also having access to multiple grocery stores, department stores and fitness gyms has been a blessing. And it's been nice to see people going on walks and running in the community as well.
I originally put my request through the online portal early morning . It was not resolved by late afternoon so I called the front office and it was resolved almost immediately. Thank you!

The staff here are incredibly friendly and kind. The apartments themselves are in good condition and regularly maintained. I like that the community has lots of outdoor lighting so no matter my work schedule I feel safe walking around the community. I love the walkability of this community too. I can easily walk to Aldi, the shopping plaza, or the lake near the shopping plaza and back in no time. I’ve become a lot healthier in my daily routine moving here.
I like the clinliness of the neiborhood and the community. The office staff is courteous and friendly.

Overall, the community is nice and we enjoy our apartment due to location and price, but the battle with the carpenter bees, wasps, yellow jackets, and ac unit may make this summer a rough one.
Every interaction with management has been professional, and any work orders have been swiftly followed through to completion. I greatly appreciate the lack of noise I hear from neighbors. Parking is plentiful and easy. Garbage management is done well, and the grounds are kept tidy and clean. It is clear to me that management staff understand and do their job well.
The maintenance team is top notch, always courteous with great customer service and experience to do the job right, the first time. Luis was great, as usual.

My move in experience here has been THEEEE worse experience I have EVER experienced in my life!!!! Monday will make it just a month that I moved here for the first time!!! Literally the next day after I got my keys!! It’s been problems after problems within my apartment!!! AGAIN THE WORST I EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! It’s NO WAY management did a true walk through of the apartment and if he/they did, then they just didn’t care!!!! And just gave it to me as is. From a heavy cigarette smoke smell in the master bedroom, to a broken drawer in the bathroom, to a half closed door on the washer, to marks on the walls and blinds, to cracks in the wall, to a stain on the sink in the 2nd bathroom, to a broken piece on the stove, to my kitchen flooding after being in here for only 4 days, to a VERY COLD unit (that still is cold even with the heat on) and all management tell me to do is turn it up to 78 WTH!!! Are you going to pay my gas bill????? I could go on, but I’m VERY disappointed in this place! Worse decision I ever made for this to be considered “luxury” that’s a joke!!!!!!

Great neighborhood with easy access to Metro and freeways. Can you name another neighborhood that is only a few minutes from Giant, Safeway, Wegmans, Aldi, Amazon Fresh, Lidl, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods?

In general, I am satisfied with the maintenance service I have received. However, I have had water sitting in the bottom of my refrigerator since 10/2022. I've requested that it gets fixed on 4 requests. They remove the water, but the issue has yet to be resolved 11/2023
