Nestled on the shores of Puget Sound, Seattle is home to glorious mountain views in the distance, making it one of the most scenic metropolitan areas in the nation. Skyscrapers like the Columbia Center and Space Needle grace the city’s skyline, adding to Seattle’s allure. Starbucks, Amazon, and Nordstrom have headquarters in Seattle, so there are plenty of job opportunities in the city. Interstates 5 and 405 and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are major benefits for frequent travelers. Residents enjoy exploring the waterfront neighborhoods of Pioneer Square and the famous Pike Place Market for shopping, trendy bars, and restaurants.
Seattle’s art scene is very vibrant, flanked with art galleries, theaters, and sculptures. The city is home to more than 80 music halls and 15 symphony orchestras.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Slate Apartments
Unsafe, breakins & noise. Garage door is frequently broken and stuck open/closed, or opens at random during the night. Our car windows were smashed out, and we found vagrants living in the storage units. Broken glass and garbage left sitting on the garage floor for months until we cleaned it up ourselves. Some mornings the garage door is stuck shut, so we can't drive to work. Really great experience at 7AM when trying to get to work. These problems have been ongoing for 2 years. When I've called Slate's 24 hour emergency service number, it was out of service. The neighborhood is an industrial wasteland between a noisy train yard and a busy street. Train noise and horns blowing until 1-2AM, then leaf blowers and construction noise starting at 6AM. Front office is friendly, but does not fix anything. Find a better neighborhood.

Anonymous, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our location. Thank you for leaving feedback. Please reach out to us at (206) 397-3341 so we may identify ways to improve your experience.
Avoid this place at all costs. You will be stolen from and you will receive zero empathy from the staff. We've had two bikes stolen since Greystar took over. The first from the secure bike storage, and the second on 10/2/2020 from our private storage unit that we pay for (see photos). When we discovered the theft, we told the office boy who said he already knew...HE DID NOT ALERT US! Our things were sitting exposed to everyone all day. I tried calling the office boy that same day to have a different storage unit assigned to us since this one was no longer functional and we needed to move/secure our things ASAP. I kept getting a busy signal so I went down to the office to find the Friday afternoon seat warmer watching something on his cell phone with the office phone set to Do Not Disturb. Pinnacle of professionalism. I had to argue with him for a half hour to get a new storage unit because he "didn't have the authority" to assign storage units and apparently this wasn't worth notifying anyone who could actually help. I literally had to explain to him that this was an urgent matter we needed help with because he didn't have any empathy for us. We've lived here for over a year and loved it until these shysters took over. We just signed a lease for another year and they've made us instantly regret it. If they redeem themselves I'll gladly update this review but until then I will shout about this as loud as I can. Such frequent thefts are unacceptable and we deserve to work with human beings in the office and not the canned customer service veneer the office boy attempted with me yesterday.

Hi, we regret to hear that you had a negative experience with us, but would appreciate the chance to turn your experience around. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will use your comments to refine our efforts to ensure this issue does not happen again.
Wonderful units, great amenities. Staff is always available for your needs.
We have been at slate apartments for about 16 months. Two times we have had three day eviction notices hanging in our door for late rent. Both times they have been incorrect and it has been a hassle to get a response from management. Seems like a really poor way to treat tenants.
Great building, modern touches, and Leed certified efficiency. What I like: 1 bedroom is a good size. Bright and airy. The gym is great, it's plenty big. Dog washing station and dog treats in the front and back entrances. Storage unit is behind my parking spot. Across the street from QFC. 2 bars in walking distance. Red Mill burgers. Whole Foods is down the road and Ballard is close by. What I don't like: So many dogs, the back entry permanently smells like wet dog. Units do not have garbage disposals or ice makers - I thought this was weird for a brand new building. The building's roof top deck is actually on the 2nd floor and is often taken over by younger college aged tenants. Details: Street parking is free but can be hard to find. As of 9/2015 I pay $200 per month for 1 parking spot and a storage unit.
Amenities and efficiency is the hallmark of Slate Apartments. I love my apartment complex because there is a 24 hour gym, several wifi-enabled community areas, an outdoor patio.patio, cable TV rooms, parking, and a great view of a soccer and baseball field in our front yard. It is especially wonderful in summer where I live because it stays cool with my clean concrete floors and my high-efficiency fixtures including a built-in washer-dryer and energy star refrigerator. Because the building was built less than three years ago, I am able to enjoy nearly brand new everything in a well-designed, modern, efficient, and LEED awarded apartment building.
It's challenging to find a great location and great apartment all wrapped up into one! Slate Apartments and Lofts are both of those things! Located one block from the bus line makes getting downtown super convenient. Not to mention, the staff is fantastic and is always going above and beyond – just last week they helped my brother jump start his car. I have lived in the building since it opened, 2 years ago, and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon!
