Property Ratings at Silver Springs
I’ve been here less than year and can’t wait for my lease to be up. Bugs, mice, needs to be updated, not safe, bad management, horrible maintenance.not enough parking space.
Horrible management and maintenance does not fix overall problem
Shortly after moving in, we had nothing but problems. Found that our apartment was contaminated with mice and bugs. We had a major water leak around exposed wiring which led to mold under the carpets and of course black mold in the bathroom. Had to leave after a month of living there because obviously these are health hazards. WORST MONTH OF MY LIFE. Also, would not recommend living on the northern side of Springfield in general. There's better out there and you get what you pay for!
I have lived here for almost a year now and have had no problems. The property manager Brittany has done such a great job helping out with my family. If I have a problem with anything in the apartment she immediately gets that fix for us. She never fails to help! I totally recommend living here. They are very understanding and they will always work with you.
Do not recommend living here. We toured the apartments originally, but eventually had to settle with one of the townhouses. The town house was not move in ready, whatsoever. Upon moving in, the bathrooms were extremely dirty (the tub especially). Whenever I tried to vacuum for the first time a fuse was blown that took out the upstairs and kitchen lights. We had to wait a couple of days before that was fixed. Basically, the home appeared run down and was not very up kept for us to move into. Thus only began the nightmare however. I had to submit 15 work orders while living here. Only a month (if even that) of living here, we discovered we had a mice problem. They sent exterminators out, but they only threw rat poison behind our oven and refrigerator. This in turn caused a mouse to digest the poison and run off to die in an unknown location. I cannot even begin to describe the smell that we dealt with. It became unbearable, so we asked maintenance for help. We were basically told that nothing could be done, and “to wait out the smell”. We couldn’t even be in the downstairs portion of our home for almost a month because it was THAT bad. The entire time we lived there, we saw mice droppings in drawers and in cabinets, I even saw one crawling across the floor at one point. This time, the exterminators only laid more traps and nothing else was done to help us. No searching for the mouse or smell was done. We had plumbing issues with our toilet, eventually resulting in them having to replace the entire unit. We had issues with our heating unit blowing out freezing cold air in the middle of winter. This happened three separate times. Windows would get stuck whenever you put them up and then fall out of the frame if pulled on. The list goes on and on unfortunately. Upon move out, we failed to meet a deadline of submitting our leave. We were forced to pay the rent for a month that we were not living there. Justified. However, they then added another $65 charge without telling us and we were not explained the charge until I called to ask about it. The girl I spoke with on the phone said "she was just learning of the charge herself". We still got charged without permission or any explanation prior. Throughout this whole experience, the management was not very helpful at all. I wish we could of had a different and more pleasant experience here but that just wasn't the case.
The new and inproved Silver Springs Apartments. Beautiful 2 bedroom apartments on nicely kept grounds. Beautiful laundry room and swimming pool. Within walking distance of Silver Springs Park and Jordan Creek Walking path.
