I wanted to be excited about living here. On paper, it looks like all the shiny new features and amenities are great and the apartment tour shows a very nice home. In reality, you are given a broken apartment you will spend more than two weeks trying to fix before you can even settle into your home. The smart home feature they advertise controls one light (on and off are the only functions) and has a door code that the office never gave us. So we can only lock our door through the app, not unlock. They will also have you download several apps for different purposes. Overall, I can't in good conscious recommend living here to a potential new resident.

I have lived at San Portella for 2 years now and it has been amazing. I love how living here is like living in your own little resort. The management team throws fun monthly events to get the community together, everything is always clean, and maintenance is always on top of everything. I could not recommend San Portella more!

Moved from NY to AZ in 2021, San Portella has been a good place to live we have gone through some management changes since but overall, the experience has not changed much. The people who live here are great neighbors are respectful new management seems to have put an emphasis on upgrading some of the amenities which is nice.

My family and I are feeling comfortable and safe living at San Portella, maintenance team is really good and quick, in general lease office personnel is good, however, for some reason the gym and pool access is restricted at 6pm, the access must be beyond that time, many of us have chance to get pool or gym at night and now we can't because they are closed.

Don't move here if you want share the area with Airbnb locations

This apartment complex was nice, but now that they are renting these places out to Airbnb locations it is becoming worse. People parting and lack of security are disconcerting. This location used to be more of a community, but not any more.

Such a great value!

We've lived here a little over three years, going on four, and I wouldn't want to leave. Amazing, highly trained staff that shows a service level second to none. This goes for all levels from the manager to the front desk agents to the maintenance. Maintenance issues are handled with a same day turnaround. Beautiful grounds are professionally maintained. Plenty of parking for everybody. Amenities are equally looked after, with no disappointments, including a luxurious pool and gym. Overall great place to live and definitely recommend.

great location and amenities!

Recently moved in and the whole process has blown me away. The amount of attention I received was bar none. Also, the apartments are clean and updated. It is also right by the free way which makes it very easy to get to the air port or any other parts of the valley.

Great place to live

I have lived here a little over a year, just renewed, and I love it! They are doing some renovations outside which look like they will be pretty cool and the new apartments are beautiful! Thinking about transferring when my lease it up. Definitely recommend!

The grounds are kept clean all the time and you can't beat the location. I was having issues with my washer. Turns out the previous management company never put it in the system which is why they never got to it. They were very accommodating when I brought this to their attention and very apologetic, when it wasn't even their fault. A Solid Choice

Overall, I really like this apartment community. There were a couple hiccups when I moved in a few months ago, but since then everything has been fixed and I am now very content. It is expected that there will be things to happen, everyone is human. I am a firm believer that it is all about how you handle the situation, not what the situation is.

You cant beat the location! Not only is it a quick drive to the airport for work, but there is a Filibertos within walking distance...you cant ask for more. I wanted the convenience and I got it.

As I approach the halfway mark in my lease I would like to thank you all for providing such quality service during my 6 months here. I've had several issues which needed attention and you addressed them immediately and resolved them fast, friendly and properly. Also, the maintenance and upkeep of the property is excellent, and the security and serenity I've experienced here have been top shelf. In a time when you don't always get what you pay for I'm glad that at San Portella that is not so, and unlike other apartments I've lived in, I'm looking forward to renewing my lease in May. Wow

I was a little hesitant about this place when I first saw it. It looked too good to be true during the walk through. Online reviews were not very good either. Forget them all, I am in love. Location is amazing, the quality of the interiors is wonderful. Spacious rooms and the insulation is amazing. Pool parties happen often at the gorgeous pool and yet even though I'm in a building facing the pool, I hear nothing unless I go outside.

We have lived here for over two years and absolutely love everything about it! Our neighbors are diverse (retirees, students, young couples, families, etc.) and are very friendly. The maintenance staff responds to all requests quickly and efficiently--even on the weekends. The grounds and pool are always well-kept and looking nice. And more importantly, the property management team, Lisa and her staff, seem to take a personal interest in ensuring that all tenants feel safe and all questions and concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Check it out! You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful BUT...

Living at San Portella is nice. Not great, not bad, but nice. These are luxury apartments so you definitely get a good looking interior with granite countertops and title kitchen floors. The floor plans are nice and reasonably priced for 2 people. There are a few negatives. I didn't realized I lived next door to a cemetery. Literally the other side of the complex wall is a cement art, which is weird. Also, there's a lot of ants even with their pest control. I had to call multiple times to have someone bait my shower because ants came out of the shower faucet. The doors are also heavy so the top hinge of my door bent and now I have to ram my door open and close because the door sits all its weight on the floor. We were told they need their door specialist who is never going to get here and our lease will probably be up before it's ever fixed. That's more than a month of slamming a door. Also, if you don't live on the main complex that's on the side of the leading office, your address will never let anyone find you on the correct side and it's even difficult to get mail because the other side of the complex's address doesn't come up, so forget about mail. Other than a few complaints this apartment is visually beautiful and is amazingly located to the on ramp of the I-10 and to me location is the most important thing.

AMAZING pool, interiors and location

Ok first, the interiors of this place are reminiscent of a 4 star hotel. Granite countertops, crown molding, custom tile entry, 10 foot ceilings, massive walk in closets, and great patio space. Second, the grounds are awesome and perfectly maintained. Gated community... has a dog friendly side with a volleyball court and an awesome grill patio. The pool side is awesome too, the pool itself is huge with a waterfall and plenty of cabanas (yes this has a jacuzzi). Also did I mention the pool is 24 hours!? Excellent. Really chill neighbors too. Third, the cost is excellent for al of this. I'm renting a two bedroom apartment with 1100sq ft for just over 1k. Plus, access to the 202, 10, and 143. The airport is literally 10 minutes away, which is shocking because you NEVER hear any airplanes. If you have the chance, live here.

San Portella Tempe - The buck stops here!!

Very comfortable, peaceful society. I moved in Dec '2012 and have been living for 3 years now. No issues, hassles, very helpful leasing office personnel. Whenever I have reported of any maintenance request, it was fulfilled within 2 hrs. Just by the I-10 Freeway so helps in commute.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!

San Portella is HORRIBLE! They charge high rent because the complex is nice and has a pool and a gym, but what they don't tell you when you move in is that you WON'T BE ABLE TO SLEEP AT NIGHT if you live in the master bedroom! The pipes in the walls knock very loudly every time someone in your unit or any unit around you uses the water. This is a huge problem if you want to sleep at night! We brought this up with the manager and were told they couldn't fix it. We thought it was just our unit until we talked to other people in the complex and found out that many, maybe all, the units in the complex have this problem. The other HUGE issue we have had with this complex is rent. We started renting at the beginning of the summer and got a good rate then, but when our renewal came up the next summer, our rent had gone up by $200. We thought this was strange since we were renting at the same time of year, so I called the office to find out what other apartments were being rented for and found that other units coming up for rent in the summer were being rented for $250 less than we were being charged for renewing our place!! I brought this to the manager's attention and requested that we be charged the same rent on our renewal as any new person was being charged, and HE REFUSED TO LOWER OUR RENT ON THE RENEWAL!!!! We decided to leave the complex because we would not pay $250 more per month than new tenants were being charged. DO NOT MOVE HERE!!!!!
