It’s been pretty good living at Sage Allen. I don’t have any real complaints at the moment. I hope we get more amenities at some point and more community type activities.
Very friendly office staff. Apartments are very spacious and the building is kept clean. The walkable location makes it easy to grab a bite to eat, go to the park, etc.
The best place to live in Hartford. Clean, comfortable, and safe surroundings. The management is friendly, responsible, and committed to work.
I truly enjoy living at Sage Allen because my apartment is very spacious and I am conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Hartford. I love being walking distance to so many events during the summer and the neighboring restaurants are delicious too! I have lived at Sage Allen for 5 years now and I don't imagine leaving anytime soon.
Easy move in process for me. Pretty quiet community and very clean and organized. As a resident I enjoy the area overall. It’s a bit awkward sharing space with other people but I have no issues and my roommates are clean so that’s the upside!
April Hudson made the process very smooth. Apartment is really nice. Feel safe with the controlled access feature. Would highly recommend. The gym amenity is pretty nice, wish there were more machines though.
Apartment was good only thing I don’t like is pricing model since it changes every day and you couldn’t lock in earlier. And parking is open to public as well. Just be aware of it

Communication with April has been top notch and moving in was simple and easy. Despite being in the middle of downtown Hartford, and apart from what sounds like some temporary renovation work, the neighborhood is quiet, secure, and close to everything.

I just moved into this apartment, and so far, I’m really impressed! The space is bright and modern, with a great open layout. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the bedroom is cozy and spacious. Love my apartment and the loc, since it’s in downtown it’s nearby everything. Nice neighbors and feels safe. I also like that there’s a garage even though it is pretty pricey, but there’s an elevator that brings you straight to your apt. Also if you have groceries you can bring them up in carts which is pretty convenient.

Overall a solid place to live for a single person. Apartment is a decent size for the price and for me it’s a convenient location. Amenities are just alright but after 8 months of living here there’s been no major issues

My experience overall has been great here at Sage Allen. However in the past few months my neighbors dog has become quite obnoxious constantly barking in the middle of the night and early in the mornings. This makes it difficult to sleep, which has become inconvenient.

Unethical Landord: My son is a student and signed a 3 month Summer Lease at Sage Allen because he had an unpaid Summer Internship in Hartford. Sage Allen sent us 23 online documents to sign on my IPhone but the lease agreement was for a 3 month rental and stated the exact move in and move out dates. Sage Allen also made us pay much higher rent than the normal rent because of the short term Lease. When my son moved out, Sage Allen kept $450 of the $500 deposit with the excuse that he had not given their standard 60 days notice for a 90 Day lease. We complained and showed them our email communications with the leasing office at the time when we moved in regarding a specific mid month move out date which is also the end date in the lease agreement since he had to go back to school in another city. We specified everything down to the payments for the partial month. The landlord decided to hold us to their 60 day notice provision for full year leases even though the move out date was stipulated from the beginning (at day 90) and it was only a 90 day lease that we also paid extra for having it as a short term rental. Buyer beware renting at Sage Allen. They will take any excuse to get your deposit And did not hesitate to take that money from a student trying to get some experience over the Summer in an unpaid internship.

The place is nice but it comes at a cost. Office clerks will not make room for a smooth move in, they will give you instructions on paper and leave you to figure things out on your own. Beware of large fees for processing payments online, to avoid those fees be sure to use e-checks but don’t make any mistakes because the access to e-checks will be denied later if a payment cannot be processed (they give 2 chances, 1 day after the other so hopefully you’ve gotten paid within those 48 hrs). I usually work 7am to 5pm so getting in touch w office clerks for anything can be difficult in my busy work schedule.

Pretty unhappy with the management of the apartments. They were still installing water meters and other basic things after I moved in. I've reported mold in the washers multiple times to no avail, the floor seems to be separating from the wall. The hallways are always extremely humid and the walls are paper thin. For the prices of these apartments, I'm super unhappy with the way the building are managed and communication to leasing office isn't pleasant. They act like they're doing you a favor by making you jump through hoops to figure things out.

Overall good living here so far. About 7 months in. Only small gripe is the shades hardly block out any light which is a bit unfortunate when my room is right by lots of lit lights at night. But the I really like my apartment and the staff is awesome!

Cool and affordable unit to reside downtown. I would give 5 stars if the bed/mattress was comfortable. The lighting can also use some upgrading, I enjoy well lit environments, someone else might not, so it really just depends. Overall, it’s beautiful and well maintained. Responsive and nice staff.

I enjoy where I live, but I don’t like that the rent keeps going up along with the separate amenity fee. My building is very spacious and in a great area in downtown Hartford. However, the rent prices are getting out of hand
