Property Ratings at Parks on the Green
I have lived here since way before current management took over when it was still called Westgate. I originally lived in another unit for 8 years and it was rough real rough before the current managers Amanda and Sandy as well as their maintenance crew took over. Since they took control everything has been awesome around the complex. They take great care of the complex and apartments. After 8 years my wife and I moved out of state for about a year and a half but decided to come back and there was only one place we considered and that was Parks on the Green. We could have lived at any place in Temple but because of Amanda, Sandy and the exceptional maintenance team we chose to come back here. It has been over 3 years since I moved back in and I love this team. They constantly strive to make this a premier place to live and are always on top of their game. I haven't had any issues with them at all and as far as the apartment I feel completely at ease living here. They are like family and truly care about their tenants I recently lost my wife of 22 years and they take the time to check on me just to make sure I am alright. I can only speak to my experience but would highly recommend anyone looking for a nice apartment despite it being an older complex I would say Parks on the Green is the place for you I know it is for me and I intend on being here for many years to come! We applied for an apartment, paid the deposit and first month for a unit. When we showed up to take possession, the unit was smoke saturated, not painted or properly cleaned. They refused to give us back our deposit or find us another unit (said they had no others empty) The only thing the manager offered was to reimburse us for air freshener and carpet fresh if we lived there.

The living space and the pool are nice. The size of the complex is great and it's in a great neighborhood. Sometimes there are issues with ants but management is attentive to the needs of the tenants. I think they find the perfect balance between being really available and not constantly bothering the residents. For the price this complex is amazing. It's conveniently located and in a nice, quiet part of Temple. We're moving after two and a half years because we purchased a place. If not, we'd be signing another contract extension. If you come expecting some of the things that come with older buildings you should have no problems and no complaints.
These apartments are great! I just got a golf course view & I am LOVING my apartment!! The ladies in the office are also very nice!
I have lived here around two years and in this time I have found that this is the best apartment community bar none. I have found that Amanda , Sandy, and Lucy are the most personable, friendly and proactive office staff I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The maintenance staff consisting of Raymond and Adolfo are the most skilled and professional men in their field. Not only are they skilled in the job they do but they are friendly and listen to the problem well. All in all, I would glady extend when the time is appropriate. Stephen k. Steele #156
I won't say this is the worst place to live, but there are definitely some points to consider. The management staff in the office can be quite condescending & rude from time to time, not to mention clueless & unhelpful. I've had my utility bill lost & never sent to us, come to check on it, & had them tell me we didn't owe anything, only to recieve a notice that we missed a payment. I've had issues with porch theft, to which I received basically a "oh that's too bad, might be some kids". Repairs can take awhile, we've had some damage for quite some time. The countertops chip easily, & the flooring dents easily from furniture. If you like good water pressure, or a comfortable medium between hellfire & artic tundra in the shower, you won't find it here. I will also say regardless of how long you stay, you will still be charged more than property value upon your next renewal. 24/7 access to laundry facilities is nice, they do allow pets, & the area is decently safe. Overall, not horrible but, I probably would not move back.
Neighbors are friendly, a few shady ones like any place, the police have been called a few times but I never felt the place was unsafe. You have to watch the management and office staff though, they can be deceptive and hard to get a hold of often. If they tell you something get it in writing. They can be slow responding and push maintenance down the road at times. Lived almost a year here and the entry gate had never worked. Also I was without hot water for over a week yet they're the first to slap you with a fee even if it's the result of something they didn't do when you tried to reach them beforehand. I wouldn't trust them but the community itself is a fair deal if your budget is tight and you don't mind the occasional random fee
