RENTERS BEWARE

I would like to outline my last year at Park and Kingston to make renters aware of what they're getting into. Not even 3 months after moving in, my dryer, washing machine, and refrigerator stopped working within the same week. I called maintenance, and the office told me it was all fixed and good to go. I get home from work and my front door was left wide-open. Trash was left everywhere. The maintenance man also proceeded to not fix anything, but make the issue worse by leaving my freezer wide open so I lost all the food as well. I told the office about the situation and how I refused to have hime come to my apartment again. They promised the other technician would be the only one working on my apartment. A few weeks go by, I am working from home and the exact maintenance man who I said I was uncomfortable with enters my apartment. There was no email, call, or notice of him needing to fix anything or come by. Therefore, he was letting himself into my residence and I would've had no idea if I wasn't home that day. I did also notice my bedroom door would be opened when I only needed help with things in the kitchen....? It was totally inappropriate and made me feel so unsafe as a young woman living alone. How many times did he enter when I didn't know? Nothing was ever done besides a "sorry" from the office. A major roof leak happened over my ceiling 4 months after move in and the water damage started staining the entire ceiling. I had to have a whole team of painters come "repair" this as well. I was stuck in the elevator in the middle of the day and the call button to emergency services did not work. If I did not have my phone with me at the time, I could have been stuck for a full day in there. I called 911 and firefighters couldn't pry the doors, they had to break off the top and get a ladder down to pull me out. The firefighters said to me - "the state of this elevator is atrocious and I can't believe someone would sign off on this". The office promised to have it "fixed" and inspected, come to find out my neighbor next door got stuck TWO times after me in the span of 7 days. It was brutal to go through (pictures below) and the management's solution was a giftcard.... quite literally laughable. Upper management was aware of this all as well. You are going to be paying the price of a high end Southend apartment with out-dated amenities, a cold leasing staff, and lack-luster community. Don't waste your time or money here.

Cars are often towed, poor emergency maintenance service

I live here and my car got towed in my own parking garage, was charged +$200, had to pay for a Lyft ride to get to the tow company office, and missed time from work. Wasted about 3 hours of my morning waiting for the office staff and tow company staff to come into the office in the morning. Office manager told me his car was also towed from the lot. I am unable to receive any reimbursement for the tow. The tow company has the freedom to come into the gated lot any time of day/night they want to tow cars. I have seen 3 cars get towed this week alone from the lot. Please stop towing cars. The emergency maintenance line is also useless, if it is after office hours you will have to wait until the following business day.

DO NOT LIVE IN CERTAIN APARTMENTS

If you’re looking at any of the apartments that are near or face the parking garage on Kingston street- DO NOT LIVE THERE. The parking garage does not have any sound proofing on the ceilings (like most parking garages do) and so any sound is reverberated and comes right into your apartment. INCLUDING the drag racing and the man that power washes the parking garage at least two times a week IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. If you couldn’t sleep through a chainsaw hooked up to an amp chopping down the widest tree in the world, you could not, and will not, sleep through this. Make sure you ask for an apartment map and confirm you’re not near this garage If you value your sleep. Also there is no cell phone service in these apartments because of the parking garage so you can’t even call 911 when there is a loud explosion that goes off in the middle of the night. Nice courtyard.

Not worth it anymore.

Current management running complex into the gutter. Package service is a 3rd party vendor with horrible service reviews.

The staff and maintenance at Park and Kingston are phenomenal. They are attentive and always ready to help. Unfortunately, the pest problem in the building itself seems to be out of control since I cant get rid of these pests in my unit.

MOLD Infestation - Bad Experience

Since the moment I moved in I noticed a wet spot in the ceiling of the bedroom. I was always concerned about it and made more than 5 request to have it fixed. The wet spot spread into the wall. It never got fixed during the two years I was there. I came home after the fourth of July weekend, to a nasty black, green moldy wall in the bedroom. It only got worse. I had to pressure the front office to do something since they did not action. I also had to get upper management involved. The solutions were minimal, they moved me to another apartment besides construction (Ii work from home so the noise is inconvienent) on the back side and I had to pack everything up (I ended up losing a briefcase with impt information and a drawer full of knives.... strange... moving company did not seem legit). This company was insensitive to my complaints, I’m pretty sure I was sick for a long time but could never pin point what it was, I strongly believe it was due to the mold in the air. I feel a lot better now. Looking back on this I should have paid whatever the mold inspection cost were and hired a lawyer. I took ample photos and video of the apartment. Its unfortunate that I cant upload it to show. I would not recommend this apartment complex. Again management does the minimum, they don't really care. There also bugs, one parking spot, no guest parking, valet waste doesn’t always come as they are suppose to. Perhaps one of the worst apts in south end.

Bad experience

Had bug problems, dishwasher didn't clean properly, hardwood floors in bathroom (retains moisture so always damp), and garbage disposal didn't work. Leasing office doesn't care about the problems...points finger back at the resident saying you didn't do something correct. Terrible experience.

Used to be great

This was an amazing place to live until Bell properties took over. I've found hidden charges ("rent service fee") in my rent statement and now they're starting to unnecessarily tow guests out of the parking garage at owners expense. One spot per unit/ no guest passes. Anything to squeeze extra money out of their tenants. Construction in the area is a nightmare. I cannot wait for my lease to expire.
