Apartments for Rent Near University of Georgia
Established in 1785, the University of Georgia is the state's flagship college -- and one of its most recognized. UGA, home of the Bulldogs, has a reputation for excellence both on and off the field. UGA is a public research university and is considered a "Public Ivy." Its sports teams compete in NCAA Division I as part of the SEC. Off-campus housing in Athens is plentiful, and since Athens is extremely walkable, it's possible to walk or bike to class -- although bus service is readily available. Students of the UGA School of Law or the Terry College of Business might want to focus on the northern side of campus near Broad Street. Those frequenting the Driftmier Engineering Center or the Daniel B. Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources may prefer apartments near Lexington Road and Barnett Shoals Road. Whether you are moving to Athens to be close to UGA, for work, or because the cost of living is terrific, you'll find plenty to do -- the music scene is legendary, and the city is filled with shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the Antebellum Bicycle Trail, which extends 170 miles along Georgia’s antebellum towns. The beer scene is great with several brewing companies to discover (try taking an Athens Brewery Tour or the Brews & Qs Trail).
