U Street has a reputation as the hip and urban, yet sophisticated neighborhood preferred by everyone from college students to business professionals. It’s one of Washington D.C.’s most historic and diverse communities, encompassed by luxury rentals.
The community has a sweet balance of commercial and residential buildings adjacent to nightlife, art galleries, boutiques, and restaurants. Locals can’t get enough of the DC half-smoke covered in chili dish at Ben’s Chili Bowl.
Music is pretty big here in U Street with jazz clubs and rock n’ roll halls on every corner. The Lincoln Theatre is an excellent place to see a show, whether you’re into jazz, soul, or country! Residents enjoy the convenience of the U Street Washington Metro station, so they can travel to neighboring communities with ease.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at NoSHA
I’ve been here a little over a year now and just renewed my lease. Management has been excellent. I’ve lived in two other “luxury” buildings in DC, and honestly, this place offers a comparable living experience at a much better value. The gym is on the smaller side, but since I mostly do cardio, it’s perfect—and it’s almost always empty. The rooftop areas are surprisingly spacious for a building this size, and they’re rarely crowded since there are only about 50 units here, much fewer than my last two buildings. Everything is consistently clean and well cared for. Definitely recommend.

Thank you for your lovely feedback! We take great pride in providing a comfortable and supportive community for our residents. Your encouraging words inspire us and we look forward to continuing to meet your expectations. Thanks again for being part of our community!
I moved into this building in early summer, and I’ve been really pleased with both my apartment and the property overall. The management team has been much more responsive than at my previous place—they get back to me quickly whenever I have a question or request, which I really appreciate. Fortunately, I haven’t had any real maintenance problems either. At first, I was a bit worried about the unit size, but the layout makes great use of the space. There’s plenty of storage in the kitchen and bathroom, plus a coat closet, washer and dryer, and dishwasher, so everything I need is right here. So far, the apartment has felt very comfortable, and the smaller footprint hasn’t been an issue. It’s hard to find a newer building with this many features at this price, so I don’t mind the size trade-off. I also like using the rooftop lounge to work on my laptop or hang out with friends when I want some extra space.

Really enjoying my new apartment at NoSHA so far. I looked at a bunch of different buildings in Shaw but they were all too big. I like the feel of a smaller apartment building where I can get to know my neighbors. The finishes in my apartment are top-notch and I love the rooftop lounge and terrace. Albert the property manager was very helpful when I moved in. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be close to the action on U Street, have the convenience of Whole Foods 2 blcks away, and still be on a quiet street!

I have lived at NoSHA for about 3 months and really have nothing but good things to share about this building. They have an on-site manager, well kept amenities, and its a great location. Its so nice to walk to Whole Foods and only be a few blocks from the metro. The immediate neighborhood is also much more residential, which feels safer and quieter when I'm walking around. The units are bright with big windows and have some nice finishes. So far so good from my perspective.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We value our residents and community and take pride in providing a great place to live. Your positive comments mean a great deal to the entire team because we truly strive to have loyal residents. Thanks again!
Worst Property Management I’ve experienced. Horrible communication with leasing unless its regarding something that benefit them, not the resident. I’ve had a few emergency request over past months and none of them were treated as, starting with my heat not working and maintenance not responding until 12+ hours later. Currently, my bathroom ceiling has been experiencing leaks since 12/12 and the issue has yet to be resolved. Maintenance either can’t or won’t fix the problem. Packages get stolen all the time. No proper up-keeping of the property. The on site staff is instructed to not engage with residents and the call center only submit tickets (which residents can do themselves).
Scheduled multiple tours, could not reach anyone. Finally after getting a tour MONTHS LATER, I could not reach anyone to get an application. I was ready to pay, reached out for weeks looking for someone to give my money to. When calling the corporate office they do nothing except say they will get back to you later and never do. Like I said, beautiful property, but they have no tenants because you cant get a hold of them to give them your money.
