North Beach Apartments

Don't move here unless you don't ever want to relax. You hear EVERYTHING. From people running up and down the cheap wooden stairs all day, to neighbors overhead, walking, stomping, even going to the bathroom. Yuck. When I moved in, almost all of my appliances were dead or died. It's falling apart. It wasn't even painted before I moved in. Now when it rains hard, it keeps threatening to flood. It has for years and they keep saying they will come up with a solution. They haven't. But they sure can raise the rent.

What you can expect here: Toxic mold. Related health conditions. One month to get your appliances fixed. Land lord harassment if you tell the truth about mold, flooding, or water damage. We are talking about big holes in the ceilings and floors and water just pouring through them from one apartment to another over and over again with no real remediation treatment given. There are some pretty dangerous neighbors there- I’m not sure if the leasing company does or uses back ground checks or what but when I say dangerous I mean front page of the newspaper kind of people dangerous. It’s just not a physically safe place to live bottom line. And they will offer specials but in my building every one who moved out got charged massive move out fees because the apartment pays for their expenses that way. Bottom line the great location and pretty exterior sold me, but the safety issues, inside the apartment and outside here are truly challenging to survive. Now that I know better, I wouldn’t put myself or anyone that I love in these apartments-ever. You won’t be safe with the apartment “leadership” (when your safety concerns are denied and lied about), you won’t be safe in the buildings (with water damage-mold), and you won’t be safe with all of your neighbors. Keep. Looking. Please. Just keep looking-there are great apartments in VB-it’s just not these.

Seriously outdated apartment. They are not professionally managed. It took them 4 months to fix the outlets when half of the apartments outlets went out. After I moved they told me I would receive my depot back minus utilities unpaid. I received a bill for $150 in damages according to their “professional.” Neighbors above me fought constantly to the point where the police was called a few times. The walls are paper thin. It sounded like a bowling alley was built above my unit. Overall worst experience I’ve had renting an apartment. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I've lived in a third floor apartment at North Beach for almost a year now and I am sad to terminate my lease due to a move out of state. I have loved living in this community. Living on the third floor has been excellent, and my view of a beautiful crape myrtle has made it even more perfect. My apartment is far enough from the road that I rarely hear truck noise, and there have been many birds to keep my cat entertained. If I weren't moving out of state, I could see myself living here for years to come. Yes, the appliances are out-dated, but maintenance has been nothing but prompt and responsive to requests. If you can find the apartment location in the complex that best suits your needs, you'll be very happy here!

North Beach is a very nice complex with really good apartments. That is what attracted my daughter and toddler granddaughter to move their. I assisted my daughter in getting an apartment here after a failed marriage in October 2015... We signed a 12 month lease, but as things would work out we had to break the least and asked to be release from it. The complex worked with us and my daughter moved out in March 2016. Everything to this point was great. It all went bad when I received a summons for a indebtedness court case in April 2018. Over 2 years after my daughter had moved out I had received this summons because they had been unable to forward the final expense charges from the apartment to her.. Because I was a co-leaser I was being taken to court for the remaining debt owed. I contacted the apartment management and asked why I was being taken to court and they explained that my daughter debtedness had been forwarded to the lawyer in 2016 and they could not find her... I asked why they didn't forward the debt to me in 2016, they explained they did not have my contact info. This was surprising to me since I had to provided an extensive amount of info about myself as the co-lease the apartment. Bottom-line it is the renters responsibility to ensure to read everything in the leasing agreement and ensure they have a forwarding address. As it was eluded to me from the management, I was not the only past leasee that had been taken to court because of situations similar to mine and that previous office complex employees may not have done their jobs correctly. After discussing and trying to resolve the situation and coming to a reduced dollar value (just debt owed) mutual agreement, the management told me that they could not do anything. So, I paid the actual debt and all the lawyers fees and court cost to avoid going to court. The additional $600 paid is what is disappointing and has compelled my to write this review.. The sad part of the entire situation is that these are really nice apartments. The management is what make it just Fair!

I have lived at North Beach Apartments for 5 months & love it. The 3rd floor apartment has vaulted ceilings & I have not heard anything from my neighbors through the walls. The surrounding trees off my balcony give a feel of increased privacy & serenity. Just a short walk through the parking lot is a very good brunch restaurant & across the street is Kroger & more restaurants.

North Beach Apartments could be a great place to live! Unfortunately that isn’t the situation currently. The appliances are outdated, there are water bugs, and some of the management is very unorganized/ unprofessional. They do not care about their resident’s and making things right when an issue arises and they are at fault. If your main concern is living by the beach (as mine was) this complex is only about a five minute drive from Chic’s beach but living here is not worth it at all.

I have lived here for 5 months so far and I love it. I have a 2 bed 1 bath on the second floor. Neighbors are friendly area is nice a lot of sweet things in walking distance including Chic's beach. Office staff always super sweet! Extremely pet friendly!!! Love the new pet stations they have around the complex. Excited for the pool to open! Only complaint so far is how thin the walls seem to be. I can definitely hear my upstairs neighbors all the time.
