With a history dating back to 1688, when the French Huguenots landed at Long Island shore near today’s New Rochelle, Downtown New Rochelle has long attracted new residents with its stunning beauty and thriving businesses. Normal Rockwell, who grew up in the area, used Downtown New Rochelle as inspiration for several of his paintings. Considered one of the best places to live, New Rochelle contains some of the nation’s most expensive real estate – but affordable options are equally available, especially in the downtown area.
The historic Downtown neighborhood features amazing views of the Long Island Sound and the Manhattan skyline. The Motif is a beautiful clean & community-friendly place. But like most places it is a bit over-priced! Also, the apartment doors can be a very annoying problem when the battery wears out! But in regards to the staff, they are very professional as well as friendly & courteous. They are why I stayed for another lease term.

After my first night here, I truly enjoy the peace. The quietness with the exception of the Metro North is lovely. I've been living here for eight months and love it! The leasing and maintenance people first rate. Lots of amenities, but I enjoy the fitness area the most. The apartments are beautiful and surprisingly quiet, I rarely hear my neighbors. The building is quiet, clean and well maintained. You can easily walk to local restaurants, shopping, and entertainment venues.I highly recommend The Motif!

Motif is a clean and modern apartment located in a quiet neighborhood, which I appreciate. The overall atmosphere is pleasant, and the facilities are well-maintained. However, I've had some concerns with the level of attention to detail and responsiveness from the crew. I believe that a bit more care and promptness in addressing residents' needs would significantly enhance the overall experience. One aspect that I find challenging is the lack of parking space for guests. It would be beneficial if the community could explore solutions to make parking more convenient for visitors. Recently moved into the Motif and I love it here! The leasing and maintenance people have been wonderful. From my initial tour, through to my move-in, everyone here has been very helpful. The MOTIF's building gives me a New York City "trendy vibe" feel minus the stress of its day-to-day hustle and bustle. After 6pm it feels like a quaint old town that closes its businesses before the sun goes down, yet they are all going to be gathering together somewhere to toast marshmallows until midnight. Hey! That's what it feels like to me and I love it!
