Meadows at Lake Ronkonkoma

We are a young professional couple who moved from Puerto Rico to New York to continue our graduate studies. After finding The Meadows at Lake Ronkonkoma online, we quickly got in touch, and from the start, Lori made everything so easy (thank you so much Lori). She was warm, welcoming, informative, and always available to answer our questions. Lori, Steve, and Jamie went above and beyond to support us since we were moving from abroad and couldn’t visit the apartment in person. They shared videos, guided us through the process, and made us confident in our decision. When we arrived, Steve welcomed us and helped us get settled. The apartment was clean and in great condition, and it even came with a washer and dryer, which we hadn’t expected! Living here has truly been the best part of our move. The community is not only quiet and safe, but also full of genuinely kind and caring people. The neighbors we've met have been warm and respectful, and we’ve never had any issues. Maintenance has always responded quickly and treated us with kindness, and the staff has made us feel like family. We also want to give a special shout-out to Steve and Chris. They were always kind and respectful to both of us, which meant a lot to feel supported. Their presence in the community makes everything feel safe and welcoming. Once, I accidentally got locked out of the apartment, and they did everything they could to help me get back in quickly. Knowing we could count on them gave us peace of mind, and we truly appreciated their dedication and care. The surrounding area is another big plus; it's safe, peaceful, and full of nature. There’s a beautiful park nearby with tennis and basketball courts, where people go to read, walk, or spend time with family. There’s also a lovely lake perfect for a picnic or a quiet moment outdoors. And soon, a grocery store will be opening just around the corner, making the location even more convenient. We’re genuinely sad to leave, but we’re relocating to continue our professional journey. If it weren’t for that, we would’ve happily stayed much longer. We’re so grateful for our time here and absolutely recommend The Meadows to anyone looking for a peaceful, supportive, and welcoming place to live.

management has no soul. extremely over priced for a place thats not on nice property and doesn't have a pool. your paying for nice fixtures like doorknobs and faucets and a gazebo in front of the cramped parking.

I've been a resident here for 8 years and in the past 2-3 years I've seen a drastic change for the good in the community and my neighbors. The service team is awesome and responsive. The management team is available and flexible and they are always here to address my concerns. I love living here and can't see myself moving any time soon.

Lots of loud and inconsiderate neighbors. Property management has no presence on property to enforce rules and regulations when needed. Could use a night security service. I will not renew lease at this property.

Pros: Price, location, new property manager, improvements made since new property manager, pets allowed Cons: Sprinkler systems tend to hit the sidewalks and front doors, no garbage pales except the dog garbages (dont use metal, use nice plastic ones), benches are out dated, pergola used mainly for the smokers. Overall: I just moved in April 2018. Since I've been here i have seen incredible improvements to the property. Once Kim and her team came in they hired security to limit the amount of visitors hanging freely, they've put up cameras which was a must, they could put up some more but I love how they put the cameras up, they're put signs such as private property, no visitors unless with a resident, replenished some old shrubs and flowers with new, painted the hallways and doors which was a necessity, post adequate signs and scheduling of property maintenance. It's the little things that can make a huge difference and Kim hasn't ignored them. I'd give her and her team 2 thumbs up in the improvement of our property. Suggestions: I'd be lying if i said there were none. I used to work at a garden complex for years so I understand what ties things together. More garbage pales (no raggy metal ones) along the pathways, air fresheners in common hallways (automatic febreeze sprays work well), fixing the sprinkler times they go off and the direction they face(i commute and walk my dog at the time sprinklers go off, very frustrating at times), updated air conditioners to the eco mode ones. Im being picky. Love this apartment as my first apartment. Would recommend to anyone for their first apartment, or for couples, or singles. Love the improvements even more.

Property management is unresponsive to the problems in this place. Drug use and sales, cigarette smoke everywhere and loud music being played constantly. The laundry has been constantly broken and is expensive when it does work.
