Koreatown is a vibrant LA neighborhood fille with hidden gems, bars, eateries, and a collision of cultures. As the name suggests, the atmosphere in Koreatown is heavily influenced by Korean culture. The neighborhood is a favorite destination among foodies city-wide for its endless selection of authentic Korean restaurants, but the community has a much more diverse character than that: the broad range of cultural influences is exemplified in landmarks like the synagogue and contemporary art gallery of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the Latin fusion cuisine of Roy Choi’s restaurants, and the popular German/Korean/Hawaiian tinged gastropub, Biergarten.
Although the area is a hot spot for LA residents’ day trips, Koreatown is known as one of the best places to live in LA. Most locals rent their homes and enjoy parks, coffee shops, and stores within walking distance of their apartments.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Maya Apartments
Came for a tour and the leasing agent wasn’t there. The person who set it up via email + confirmed “Alisa J” never responded to my two emails asking why this tour was set up with no availability to actually show/no one in the leasing office. A tenant let me in - she said she was moving because the walls are thin and that no one is ever around or answers calls regarding maintenance. I looked around the property - it smelled good and was nice but a stranger (me) was able to go from floor to floor as there is no security and no need for a fob. The pool would never get any sun (obviously.) All in all this place is terrible. Particularly because of the way they handle their potential lessors.
Call box has been broken all year, no leading agents, break ins, theft, when they ARE here the agents are rude, washer/dryer suck. Apartments are nice with views, good retry quiet for the most part, nice appliances, cleaning staff is amazing.
I double confirmed my appointment for a self guided tour but no one was in the leasing office. I waited 30 mins and asked the agent who I can contact directly for a tour and no response. Waste of time and very unprofessional.
My daughter and I had an appointment for a tour on 6/8/21 at 1:30pm. She had confirmed the appointment the end of the week prior, as we were traveling in from out of state to look at housing options for fall when she starts school. We got stood up. We followed the instructions in the confirmation email: tried the call box several times, no answer. Called the phone number we were given, no answer, and no ability to leave messages. Voicemail was full. Called the office number on the leasing advertisement board out front. Went to the same voicemail as the other number we had. Text and email options aren’t managed by a live person. We’re pretty sure “Alisha” is an AI, as she asked what kind of unit we were interested in, and if we wanted to schedule a tour. We tried everything we could, for 45 minutes, including asking a resident who came out if anyone was in the office, then finally gave up and left. We tried to call the afternoon of 6/9/21 to follow up, and again no answer, full voicemail. Office hours say Tuesday-Friday 9am-6pm, but good luck finding a live person.
I put in a request on apartments.com and toured the apartment in the same week. The agent was really nice and I liked that it wasn't one of other massive k-town complexes, the building seemed more low-key and quiet. The units I toured all felt bright and airy with the high ceilings and large windows. I really liked the kitchen - warm cabinetry with white countertop and bright under-cabinet lighting. I ended up moving in and everything has been great! The specials were very generous and I got the unit I wanted with the views :) The building is in a great location right next to 6th street, I can walk to a lot of the usually crowded plazas with no parking!!
Very warm welcoming and exquisite. From the moment I viewed the apartment I immediately signed on! Thanks for being such an amazing property loving the foundation for sure and the amazing neighbors! The rooftop though only by God!
