Located a few miles south of the Tennessee River, Tuscumbia is a quaint, small town that values history and preservation. Originally an early center for commerce and agriculture with ties to the first railroad west of the Allegheny Mountains, you can find beautifully preserved historical buildings downtown and old-fashioned homes in the neighborhood. The annual “It’s A Dickens Christmas, Y’all” immerses the town into the holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol.” There are carriage rides, music, arts and crafts, and even a dinner featuring the characters from the story. On Second Saturdays, the town continues to indulge in nostalgia through an outdoor market where local businesses sell goods.
