Nestled beside the Des Plaines River and the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal, Summit Argo is a diverse village and suburb of Chicago. The town offers a variety of affordable to mid-range houses and apartments available to rent. Summit Argo is best known as being the setting of Ernest Hemingway’s short story, “The Killers.” The majority of the town is dedicated to industrial and manufacturing companies, but many people commute into the city as well. The community in Summit Argo is very close-knit, spending their time at the Summit Park District, racing at the Fleetwood Roller Rink, dancing it up a local bar, or indulging in a meal at one of the many authentic restaurants found throughout town. Along with only being 20 minutes from Downtown Chicago, Summit Argo is also convenient to the Chicago Midway International Airport, making traveling in or out of state a breeze.
