Riverside is a suburb of Dayton, the birthplace of aviation. This town is affordable with a low cost of living. Riverside is divided into two pieces of land by the gorgeous Eastwood Lake and Mad River. West of Dayton, Riverside has strong roots in aviation as well. This area is home to the Wright Brothers Memorial, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Over a million visitors go to the National Museum of the United States Air Force to view over 360 aerospace vehicles, missiles, and more. Proud of its aviation roots, Riverside hosts the annual Air Force Marathon, a 5,000 participant event with competitors from all fifty states and across the globe. This weekend is the biggest of the year, filled with events including the Finish Line Festival.
There is plenty to do apart from Riverside’s aviation tourist sites. The city has five major parks with different activities through the year. There are also seven nearby parks on the edges of town residents frequent. The 185-acre lake at Eastwood Lake Metropark is ideal for jet skiing, fishing, and sailing. If you’re looking for even more fun, travel over to Dayton, which is less than 15 minutes away from Riverside.
