As one of Omaha's oldest neighborhoods, Orchard Hill contains some of its oldest houses, ranging from Queen Anne Victorians to Four Squares. The oldest home in the neighborhood was built in 1889. Hilly and filled with mature trees, Orchard Hill provides a beautiful setting with fast access to Downtown Omaha, located just two miles southwest. One of the neighborhood's notable locations is City Sprouts, the oldest community garden and urban farm in Omaha. City Sprouts is the heart of the community, providing fresh, locally-grown produce and hosting community events, such as Gala in the Fall, and classes on a variety of garden-related topics. If you choose an Orchard Hill apartment, you'll have access to two large parks, located just south of the neighborhood. Walnut Hill Park is a tree-filled park with tennis courts, sledding hills, and picnic areas. Bemis Park features a paved walking/jogging path, a playground, and tennis courts.
