Sonoma State University is one of the smallest in the California State University System, located on 269 acres near Rohnert Park. Sonoma State offers 92 bachelor degree programs and 19 master degree programs, and it is ranked as one of the top public schools in the West. It is also considered one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. The Seawolves participate in NCAA Division II as part of the California Collegiate Athletic division. Situated about seven miles south of Santa Rosa and roughly 50 miles north of San Francisco, Rohnert Park is close to everything you love about Northern California -- including nearby wineries and vineyards. Rohnert Park dates back to about 1929, when a farmer named Waldo Emerson Rohnert purchased a large ranch in the area and started the Rohnert Seed Farm. When looking for apartments near Sonoma State University, look on the east side of town, especially along Snyder Lane and Southwest Boulevard.
