I resided in Morningside Hgts for 4 years as a RN working @ St. Luke's Hospital a few years ago! I always felt safe, enjoyed the diversity & the access to subway & transportation. Always easy access to a great diversity of foods!

So close to the beautiful parks and Columbia campus, plus the cathedral of Saint John the Devine which is somewhat of a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Mostly families and colleges students live in the neighborhood and there are many different restaurants and bubble tea places to go to in very short distance from eachother.

Morningside Heights offers a variety of cultural and extracurricular opportunities. Located on the west side of Harlem right next to 125th street residents can explore the heart of Harlem or go down a few blocks where there are numerous restaurants from all over the world!

I am an 18 yr old (female) living in W114th st. There are at least one cases daily of someone getting hurt (stabbed, shot, gun dispute, slashed) based on the citizen app (especially near W 107th st). I personally don't recommend staying outside after 8 pm. There are a lot of cars with their car stereo music up to MAX volume near Morningside park. I come from a country where there is very little violence, so I do get scared and paranoid from time to time
