It has all of the charm of a small town with the fast access to Manhattan and Jersey City that makes commuting a breeze -- less than 14 miles from New York City, with bus and subway service into the city, and roughly 12 miles north of Jersey City, also a short commute away by bus.
The city borders Teterboro Airport, which is home to the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum of New Jersey. Sports fans will love Hasbrouck Heights -- it is only three miles north of the Meadowlands Sports Complex, which contains the MetLife Stadium (home of the New York Jets and Giants) and the Meadowlands Racetrack, in addition to the New Meadowlands Market -- an outdoor flea market open every Saturday, year-round. New Jersey's state fair is also held here, at the State Fair of Meadowlands fairground.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
