I moved here fore college in 2010 and loved the area so much I never left. I stayed for medical school and now for my residency in neurosurgery. The neighborhood is nice, quiet ad walking distance (<2 miles) from most things in the city.

Georgetown is a lovely neighborhood to live in. It's very quaint and safe, with great restaurants, a park and a real community feel. Only critique is that it's expensive.

This neighborhood is quaint and charming but comes with a large price tag. The cost of living is high, and the "locals" are merely expats who have several homes. There is a strong international vibe and many friendly dog owners who roam the streets. This area is great for visiting with your loved one or exploring as a solo traveler, but the college campus nearby also tends to make a ruckus on occasion.

Most people in this area work for the government or for NGOs. There's such a wealth of opportunities in this field in DC that most students can find employment after graduation fairly easily.
