This neighborhood is known for being a low-income area, which shows through the public areas being run down. Some areas have renovated parks and affordable housing, but that does not change the fact that the place is crime-ridden and of low overall quality. For commuting, you'll have to walk over ten minutes in upper Brownsville and the stations nearby are not renovated or cleaned. The most you'll see is a paint job. Lastly, because of the crime, it is advised not to commute or be out in the area at night.

Brownsville has it days where things are decent but sometimes it's the worst. It's just sad how little people care about the environment around them and turning into products of their environment.

It's a great neighborhood to live in due to its location and accessibility to public transportation. However, it isn't very safe depending on which part you choose to live in.

Not the ideal place you would like to raise a family. Drugs, gangs, poverty. Easy commute to Manhattan though
