Roughly bounded by East Colonial Drive in the north and Highway 528 in the south, Alafaya is a vast community on the east side of Orlando. Apartments in the northern portion of Alafaya are within close proximity to the University of Central Florida and Valencia College East Campus, making the area a popular choice for many students, faculty, and staff.
North Alafaya is decidedly suburban, offering excellent shopping and dining options in vibrant shopping centers strewn along Alafaya Trail, the community’s main commercial thoroughfare. Lockheed Martin, a major area employer, is also situated in North Alafaya.
South Alafaya is more rural, exuding a laid-back atmosphere with expansive stretches of open space and lush greenery. Hal Scott Regional Preserve and Park is located in this part of the community, providing residents with ample opportunities for outdoor recreation.
