When you step inside Chinatown, you’re immediately immersed in art, culture, and authentic culinary cuisines. Residents and visitors are greeted by two dueling golden dragons at the neighborhood’s main entryway. The streets, retailers, traditional- and non-traditional restaurants are adorned with vibrant red and gold tapestries, symbols of love and prosperity, as well as words of welcome in Mandarin.
The Central Plaza is a major tourist area with restaurants, gift shops, markets, and art galleries occupying buildings of Chinese architecture, complete with unique sculptures atop pagoda rooftops, hanging lanterns strung across bustling pathways, a dragon mural, and the famous Seven Star Cavern Wishing Well.
This vibrant urban neighborhood has tons of charm – plus great local dining. From dim sum establishments to pho and ramen to bakeries and street cart foods – you’ll find it all here.

Property Ratings at LLEWELLYN
Overall this is my favorite apartment I’ve stayed at in Los Angeles and it has a lot to offer. Access to Chinatown, the state park, metro and more has improved my quality of life and I look forward to staying here for a while.
I had an amazing leasing and move-in experience at Llewlyn Apartments, and I want to give a huge thank you to Marco and Joner for making everything so smooth. Marco, our leasing agent provided an exceptional leasing experience from start to finish. Coming from the Arts District, Llewlyn immediately felt like the right choice for my family, and Marco’s professionalism and welcoming approach made the decision even easier. Joner, the other available leasing agent during our move-in, was equally wonderful. He was incredibly accommodating, especially considering it was pouring rain on our move-in day. He made sure we were taken care of and that the process was as easy as possible despite the weather. I’m excited to start this new chapter at Llewlyn. The community already feels like home for my 4-year-old and my Frenchie, and we’re really looking forward to enjoying the convenience of being able to walk over to LA Historic Park. As of now, It’s the perfect place for us. As for the maintenance team, I really appreciate the quick response on handling the maintenance ticket that’s been submitted. They do a great work with maintaining the cleanliness and keep up with the grounds of the building especially with all the fun doggies walking around. It’s a great experience knowing the community is well taken care of throughout the day. Thank you again, Llewlyn team, for such a positive start to our residency!
Staff are polite and curteous. Grounds are clean. Furniture in the common lounge area needs updating.
We have lived here for close to 10 months now and are still thrilled that we decided to call Llewellyn home. The response time to maintenance calls is stellar, and unlike our previous nearby apartment community that we lived in for nearly 8 years, there is never been a single security issue for us since we've lived here. Management also throws some delightful resident events, too, and is extremely communicative about issues involving the Llewellyn community.

The best part of living here is the staff who make our experience top-notch, especially Daniel at the front desk, and Eddie and Aaron on the maintenance team.

After living in another nearby community for many years, best decision we made was to move to Llewellyn a couple of months ago- this is without a doubt the safest, cleanest apartment community in Chinatown. Office staff Marco, Monika and Rolanda are friendly, helpful, honest and quick to respond, head of security Daniel exhibits such a calm and professional demeanor- he's definitely who you want on your side in a foxhole- Caitlyn and the rest of the night security staff are vigilant and responsive. It's also hard to believe there are so many dogs here, as it's so, well, doggoned clean here! 2BED layout is terrific, essentially like a dual master. Could go on, but think it's evident by now- pretty stoked to call Llewellyn "home"!

Thank you again for taking the time to let us know how we did. We hope you have a great day!
Apartment is nice, good location near breweries and Metro station, fair amount of street parking. Staffing needs more training and experience.

Please reach out to us at (213) 842-8025 at your earliest convenience and we will do our best to resolve this with you.
The staff is great, and the units are outstanding. Just don't move here if you want to use the amenities -- they constantly rent them out for private use. The company should be honest and upfront about this trash policy before renting out units.

Hi, thanks for your praise and kind comments about our team. We love our neighborhood and community. If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an amazing day!
Once you move in, management does not follow up on issues. It’s been three weeks of us trying to get a hold of someone (phone, in-person, and email.) They operate with a sense of urgency when you’re applying and moving in, after that, good luck.
Property Manager at LLEWELLYN, Responded To This Review
Hi Liz, thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recent experience. We are disappointed to hear that you are not satisfied with your experience. We take pride in our service and make it a point to address any resident concerns. Please give us a call at (213) 842-8025 if you have any additional questions or concerns since our last conversation. Thanks again!
Amenities are pretty decent, but the construction of the building is extremely poor. Do not move here if you enjoy a quiet environment. The floors and walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors having conversations. Elevators are often down and or broken. Be aware if you do move in, they do not have a freight elevator and you’ll be stuck battling neighbors “overriding” the elevator and taking it to another floor as you’re moving in. The elevators are not tall or deep, so your moving company will likely charge you additional to carry bigger items up the stairs. Sadly had high expectations of the community, but management is unable to resolve noisy neighbors and frequent complaints of weed smell. They’ll tell you it’s like any midrise building when it comes to noise, so do your research.

Hi John, Thank you for your review. As stated in response to your previous reviews we will be reaching out to you to discuss your concerns in further detail. Thank you! Cara M. Community Manager
It's a clean quiet new building with good amenities. It's currently worth the price. Whether you're a student with a rich parent, a young successful person, or a stable professional looking for an apt living space, it's a good one. Also the showers have great water pressure.

Hi, we are so happy to read such a great review about Llewellyn Apartments! We are always more than happy to assist you if anything else comes up. Take care! Thank you, Cara M. Community Manager
Llewellyn is pretty much brand new so everything is beautiful with great amenities. Although not really located in a "happening" area, in return you don't get loud noises and activities outside at night which is a pretty good trade-off in my opinion. A major factor behind us choosing Llewellyn is our leasing experience with Kimberly. Her patience with all of our questions and her constant positive energy was much appreciated.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at Llewellyn Apartments. We're happy we could meet your expectations! If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help! Thank you, Cara M. Community Manager
I live on the top floor and I can hear bass music from level(s) below. I can hear doors closing from down the hall. I can hear my neighbors walk around and go in/out of the house. Management has been responsive, but given their many hierarchical tiers, very slow to respond. They have provided no viable solutions and when trying to leave, they threatened to fine us the 2 months rent for ending lease early (these are early-lease termination terms). Security and maintenance have been the most attentive staff here. The building itself is beautiful, looks great, and is in a quiet area. Rent is very good for a luxury apartment with great amenities. Given everything, I would still avoid unless you do not mind thin walls and floors. It’s not just me, it’s other tenants as well. Llewellyn is actively policing the online reviews AND community forums.

The community has great amenities, but the construction and sound travels between floors. I can hear every footstep above and every TV show playing below. Very unpleasant and would not suggest moving here unless youre on floor 7.

The location of LLEWELLYN is excellent thanks in part to the surrounding breweries, wineries and LA Historic Park, which hosts events all year long.
Very happy with selecting the Llewellyn community. Im excited to share it with my friends and family. From amenities to hosting outdoor events! Llewellyn has exceeded my standards. I mean every single staff member puts the time in to help you and ensure you feel comfortable. I love the DTLA living without the DTLA drama.

Hi, thank you for your kind review; we are happy to pass along your comments to the team here at Llewellyn Apartments! Thanks again for taking the time to leave us this information about your recent visit. Take care!
Llewellyn is a beautiful community with excellent management and friendly residents. The amenities will be nice and it is a quiet neighborhood with easy access to freeways and just moments away from anything you want in downtown LA. I moved here to get out of the heart of LA craziness but still have easy access to my favorite places downtown. The state park across the street is a fantastic bonus!
