Kenley is a clean, safe, convenient, and responsive community. We have had zero complaints. The maintenance staff and the front office staff are incredibly helpful. This is a HUGE pet community, which we love. The pool is open year-round, which is awesome. They keep the pool very clean. You get valet trash service to your door. It is more expensive living here than other places, but you get what you pay for. We have a young child, and my husband and I were never worried about safety here. We highly recommend this place!
Toured these apartments. Dead roaches in the model, cheap old blue counter tops, smelled like someone smoked weed in the model right before arrival, buildings need serious power washing. For the price of the apartments, you’d expect them to be better quality
The people in the office are rude and they are liars. I was told I would have an open floor plan. That was a lie. On moving day I was surprised to find the kitchen was not open like I was told. I specifically asked do I need to turn the gas on. I was told only for the fireplace. Then I’m getting all these rude emails months later in the summertime that I need to turn on my gas for hot showers. Why didn’t you say that when I specifically asked!?! Every email that was directed to me was rude. They definitely do not care about their residents as soon as you sign on the dotted line. And I had so many issues within the unit that the maintenance man knew me by name. I HATE that place more than ANY place I’ve ever lived. The inside is extremely outdated.

We moved in on Sept 25th, 2020 and have had a great experience with the staff. The kids absolutely love and adore Gene from the maintenance department. He is always detailed, thorough and personable. The kids love his fun personality. Amy in the front office is a sweetheart and always loving on our kids and helping with questions we have. Dave has also gone the extra mile in the front office to help with a crazy situation with Birmingham Water Works when they mistakenly turned off water to the wrong apartment (ours instead of the family who moved out a couple doors down). We love all the staff and look forward to seeing what other improvements GWR will have come this spring/summer for the amenities.

There is not enough parking, so we have to park hundreds of yards away from our apartment at night. This is not safe for my wife walking in the dark at night. There was plenty of room for enough parking spots, but instead they built storage garages to up their profits. The epitome of greed without a care for your residents. Do not move here unless you enjoy hiking with your groceries.

We understand that parking is in high demand at our community and additionally our community does meet the requirements set forth with the local building codes, and we've done our best to help ensure our residents have fair and equal access to our facilities by issuing parking permits and requesting that vehicles only be parked in designated parking spaces and not along the curbside. We appreciate your feedback and are working diligently each day to monitor any persons who are violating the parking policies.
Current resident of over 2 years and will not be renewing...yes it’s a great location on 280, in a good school zone, and has the lake appeal but the complex is extremely old- the apartments have popcorn ceilings, phone jacks in the master bathrooms, musty smelling air units (concerned with mold), horrible in regards to energy efficiency ($175.00 in electricity for 2 bedroom, $30.00 for gas, $85/100 for water/sewer) on top of $40.00 for trash pick up to take around the corner and $25.00 for security system that is 15 years old regardless if you use it or not...on top of a huge trash problem!!! The trash piles up at the entrance about twice a week—very poor management lately!! Not enough parking spots where people park on the curbs. Our neighbors reported mold on base boards when moving. Other neighbors needed help after water break leaking into other neighbor’s garage below. The complex is about 20 years old and it shows!!!
Nice place overall. Maintenance has been responsive to initial issues however basically every grassy, and landscaped area is COVERED in dog poop from irresponsible and disrespectful renters. There are plenty of doggy stations with bags that no one seem to use. There is also allegedly 'fines' for residents that don't pick up after their pets but completely not enforced evidently. Its winter now so the smell is not overwhelming but when the heat comes, the flies and smell will be a serious concern, and health issue.
Please make sure if u live here u hind anything of value if there maintenance team comes in!! Also make u sure walk the apartment u are going to get before u move in! Mine was gross and things still have not been fixed ( not that i want the maintenance team coming in things might go missing again) The only good thing they have going for them is there leading agent. Upper management is rude and don’t care about you.
We experienced more problems while living here! Everything from the AC constantly not working, to a dead/rotting animal in our bedroom wall, to then having raccoons in the ceiling/walls. They are incredibly difficult to work with and never follow up. If you don't have problems, I'm sure it's a nice place to live. However, if you do have problems, don't count on them getting fixed.
My husband & I went to Kenley to try to preview a 2br apartment. We waited in the foyer area of the leasing office for several minutes. There were 3 people in the offices and 2 were with someone. One lady was doing something on the computer. No one ever acknowledged we were there or said we will be with you in just a minute so we finally left. It was not a good experience and I wouldn't recommend this complex to anyone else.
As a young professional, I could not ask for a better residence. It is convenient to shopping and restaurants, but yet tucked into a quiet corner. The grounds are well kept and the staff is amazing!
a very nice place to live, too many dogs owners not picking up after them.
